Dang!
I have $8,000 waiting to clear my Credit Union (3.25%) before I can transfer it to Emmigrant!
With the forthcoming increases from the Fed, I would expect to see Emmigrant at 5% by the end of the year, if not sooner.
There was a deal a couple days ago where you could get this AV for free after 2 rebates. Even at that, I was not comfortable enough to buy it.
Today I ordered Norton AV for $35.99 shipped from Buy.com with a $20 rebate for previous customers. I know Norton is not the best, but I'm...
Gee, here is a post about a great plasma TV for a great price. And someone says, yeah, but if you pay twice as much, you can get something that some people ancedotally think is better. Pioneer Elite and Fujitsu are basically afterthoughts in the plasma market, unless you are in the 20K club.
Does HSBC offer a credit card with a 1.25% rebate like Emmigrant?
I think I will get this card. 1.25% rebate on most things, combined with 5% rebate on Discovery Gas card is hard to beat.
Not worth moving my $$$ from Emmigrant for this little promo.
A lot of these things including the laptop from Walmart are what they call "loss leaders". They will actually lose money or break even on the chance that once people get in the store they will buy things that do have a profit.
Also, how many of these laptops is Walmart going to have...
At one end of the price spectrum you have the $3.25 6 foot optical from Parts Express. If anything is going to make a difference in sound quality, it is going to be going from plastic to glass. PVC jacket and metal collars won't affect the sound quality at all.
I am perfectly satisfied...
The real "premium" optical cables are made of glass, not plastic fibre optic. I have not looked extensively, but I did see some glass optical cables, 6 foot for $19 on ebay.
The reason that ING cannot keep their interest rate as high as Imigrant is because ING is doing a TON of TV and other advertising while Emigrant is not spending a fortune on TV ads.
Frys's has had that for $999. I would not pay any more than $999 for that. It is about to be discontinued.
Also note that fan noise is a problem with the 7300.
They are only on sale because they are being replaced by new models, so you won't see prices like this for a while. Then again, the new models are going to be hyped as being superior to the old.
1) If you close your Comcast HSI account (but not your cable TV), for 30 days, you can get another 6 months of $1995. Did it before, and it is still a viable and legit option.
2) Verizon is supposed to have a $14.95/month plan that is limited to 768K down. When I call Comcast to cancel, I...

After review of 17 major markets:
Atlanta
Boston
Chicago

Denver
Detroit
Houston
LA
Minneapolis
New York
Philadelphia
Phoenix
San Diego
San Francisco
Seattle
St. Louis
Washington, D.C.
These conclusions:
Verizon is the top provider in all markets.
TMobile...
Not likely they will get more of these. They are discontinued and Sony is sending its discontinued stuff to BJs wholesale. The other day I saw the 57 inch version of this set at BJs for $1,500, IIRC. Not nearly as good a deal as tweeter had on the 51, but that is history now.
I'll be...
TMobile will be adding the Razr to its lineup of phones in August.
Cingular service is not good. They are overloaded. Merging with AT&T did not help.
Verizon is the best carrier, period.
My plan with TMobile is great. 1000 nationwide minutes, free nights and weekends for $49.99...
If Sams or anyone trustworthy had the top rated Sony KE-42M1 ED plasma for $2,000 that would be killer. BJ's has an older model Sony 42 inch plasma HD for $3,500.
Top rated Sony 50XS955 plasma is widely available for $5,000.
Someone posted that you get might only get $100 for Home Depot and Target. 2 other participants are Best Buy and Staples. So, is it possible you might only get a $50 gift card for Best Buy and Staples? If so, not so hot for me, and also makes me distrust the whole thing as they say $100 period...

On the other hand if, as does Consumer Reports, you follow hundreds of thousands of cars for 8 years you come up with this: at one year or less American cars average 18 problems per hundred vehicles while Asian cars average 16 problems per hundred vehicles. But down the road things...
Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but do things like the net fill the whole screen without geometric distortion on these widescreen displays? I am sure a widescreen DVD will fill the whole screen but what about ordinary web serfing?

Interesting post. I'm sure the ancedotal stuff about the hand full of people you know is at least as valid as 810,000 written surveys from owners. Please try to understand, it is not Consumer Reports just making up their ratings on the basis of any bias by a couple dozen people who...
Do any of you think Consumer Reports knows anything about the reliability of cars? Unlike JD Powers, CR follows each car model for 8 years. They do this through the responses of 810,000 returned subscriber surveys. That's right 810,000 surveys from vehichle owners going back 8 years! Of 44...
