Memtest errors at stock

Mobo is DFI nf4 SLi (3/10 bios) and mem is Ballistix 500, they do not play nicely with new Venice. Tried different things, updating bios, clearing cmos, tight and loose timings etc. just does not work. Everything was working with 3200+ Winchester Any ideas, someone had similar issues...

Did you try different bios versions? I had similar issues with Ballistix DDR500 and A8N-SLI Deluxe. Using any mem divider (2/3, 5/6) system froze or won't post when memory was reaching 190~200. Seems like your case, because if you use 1/2 divider you can take your HTT to 270. With 1/2...

NV Silencer 5 out of stock everywhere?

How much of the next PCI(-x) slot does VF-700 take? I have two 6800 GT and have problems fitting both of them with NV-5 on DFI nf4. Essentially you can have 2 cards with NV-5 only on ASUS boards. NV-5 are way to big. Are VF-700 any smaller?

How many tests of Memtest are enough?

My ballistix seems to be sensitive to the temperature. Do not know about yours but you might wish to either try fanning or rule out exogenous rise in the temperature, such as temp rising during the day, etc. etc. Also, ASUS boards are notorious for conflicts with Ballistix DDR500 that is my...

About 5G. No CDRW, so I guess the easiest should be to trasfer them through Ethernet cards. There should be some roundabout route of assigning both PCs certain IPs so they will recognize each other as a network, but is there something easier? Many thanks, O

I swapped mobos without fresh OS install. Everything went fine, just needed to install drivers for network adapter. Did all the benches fine. How do I do "repair" install?

DFI nf4: SATA drive won't show up in bios ???

I just moved from A8N-SLI to DFI nf4 Ultra-D. Everything posted fine, but for some unexplicable reasons I cannot find any of my SATA drives in bios. They are just not there. Niether two raptors nor 250G diamondmax 10. However, I do not have this problem with my Plextor DVD-RW and WD IDE drives...

None tried? Am I doing something wrong, or it should be this way? True image of 3.6G IDE drive is 3.2G, but why RAID images are so big?

I do not think it is, and I tend to believe that you will face the same limit with Ballistix DDR400 as well. I PM npapanik, the only person who responded with DDR500. Hopefully he or she would be able to prove or disprove this point. Lets wait. No to the best of my knowledge

Yes, but only in the case of you and me. Quite a few people CAN do it, just those replies proove it. So, it is not BIOS in general, but BIOS with our particular combination: 3200+ from Monarch and A8N. Interesting enough, we have nearly identical problems. I am really curious to know more about...

My CPU is also from Monarch, can it be that on-board controller is crapping out in our particular mobo + mem combination? You see, there are a lot of people who have this board running fine with Ballistix. I do not think that this is a problem of the "crappy" BIOS in general

I have Ballistix DDR 500 A8N-SLI 3200+ and everything running fine stock. However, I have the feeling that Ballistix and A8N do not go well together. Memory overclocks poorly, i.e. 220 is the highest you can get with 1t. Relaxing timing has zero effect on this limit. Also with 5/6 mem divider...

I guess those are two options, you choose. btw, if you drop the Htt multi in nTune can you overclock then? my problem was that 230 htt limit and lowering htt multi in windows helped.

Can you install nTune and check the HTT multi with it? There is a bug in some bioses that does not allow to drop HTT multi. I.e. No matter what you set in BIOS, it will be running 5x. Mine does. I can only check and alter it with nTune. I guess your problems are more serious then this, but...
