Dual Monitor Setup

ok, so scratch the splitter idea... but as far as dual monitor ... let me get this straight... would it be so that the start menu is on the left monitor and the clock is on the right monitor lol? i just can't picture how he can run 2 different programs on the setup if the monitors are...

That's true. Do you have any psu names or links?? :) But to be honest at the same time I want a psu that's atleast 400+ watt and at the same time one of good quality... Something that could compare to that good 350watt but with more wattage... just for the hell of it kinda... and just...

yeah i just wanna mention that the 7800gt alone requires a minimum of 400w with atleast 26amps on the 12v rail... so just keeping that in mind should help out a bit.... waffle i'll check that psu out, thx

yeah i know its a bit over priced, and i have seen 6600gt's for 140 bucks, its just that i like the BFG brand for my own personal reasons + i dont mind spending the extra couple bucks for them.

My video card keeps resetting randomly

I'm not exactly sure what it is in your case, but with my p4 system, the 9600xt kept freezing and crashing like your describing. After changing the cooling on that card, it ran stable ever since. I used the zalman HS with the addon fan. Turned out to be a heating issue for me =/ Why stock...

man what's up with these brand new defective motherboards lately!!!!!!!!!!! i had to replace mine the first time i bought it too :( VERY ANNOYING! And yes try to reset the CMOS, it doesn't hurt :)

So although the 6600GT might show higher clock speeds, the pipelines make up for it i'm guessing... That's why my own personal 6800GT is faster and more expensive than the 6600GT. Also my friend won't be playing on anything over 1280x1024 anyways. So i'm guessing there you wouldn't need to...

Lonyo i see what your saying. But where do you actually get the numbers 2 and 30 fromt he 2^30. What do those stand for. So basically it's like saying in computer language they see 1GB as 1024 MB? Is that what you mean? I guess that's why ram isnt 1000MB, its 1024 o_O -Ayman

I guess windows needs its own space for something, i'm not to sure myself but i know if you take 1,000,000,000 * 250GB and divide it by 1024 3 times then you get 232.8GB which is what your getting. Dave Simmons should know why :) Seems like he knows what he's talking about.

Putting together a new computer for a buddy of mine and so far all I know that's going in it for sure is the amd64 3200+. Ram won't be a problem, we'll see what he wants, most likely some VS Corsair. I'll prolly be going with the skt 939 Asus A8V Deluxe. My main concern is the video card...

Upgrading computer, any thoughts would be great

supposably the ATI's are ment to run HL2 better. The 6600GT will surely out perform your 9800pro and you'll notice a big difference :)

Did I accidentally overclock my system?

if you want your speed to read 1.8 try setting your bios settings to 10x180 ... not exactly sure but that might actually make it run at 1.8 exactly. give it a try it doesnt hurt :) set your multiplier to 10 and your fsb to 180 instead of 9x200 which i believe is what it's at right now...

LOL Yeah its a POS! LoL!!! Sorry I don't mean to put you down, but like others are saying... THIS ISN'T OVERCLOCKING. This is completely normal, the speeds will fluctuate. My 2.2 will read 2199-2201 or w/e. It's not OC'd!!! That's just how they work LoLOL~~~
