One of my all time oldies favorites. I have an old IBM ThinkPad EL760 that I have it loaded on. I was actually playing it about 2 weeks ago - still interesting.

Replace fans or go to water cooling?

Complete video review with flow rates (120L/hr) and such stated. In my impression the flow rate is low but I think the CPU water block design allows more heat transfer and then longer time in the radiotor and reservoir to disipate heat more thouroughly. Closeup of CPU block with flow path...

Very strange. My PC just powers down and restarts for no reason.

My server started doing the same thing and all the pcs in the house would go off line while it re-booted. Turns out it was my UPS (power) was going bad.

Quiet and Cheap 120mm Fans

Some of the quietest I've come across are used by OEM's I have a Hewlett Packard Kayak XU-800 (dual PIII's @ 866 MHz) which has a 120mm that I can't hear at all. It also has a built in heat sensor between the hard drives that turns on another fan 92mm which is extremely quiet as well. May be...

I found my new system with Intel Prescott was extremely noisy. I would OC up to 3.9 easily by the fan was running at 4260 rpm. It was actually shaking the case. While gaming that stinks. I set the fan speed to 1580 rpm on the 120mm fan and it cools 10 degrees C better than Intel fan. I've been...

Re-assign drive letters

Yes if program is installed I guess it would be lost when you try to run it. I just got home and tried it extremely easy. Just remeber to put a disc in the DVD and/or CD/RW drives or Windows doesn't see the drive properly to allow the change

How many people still use floppys?

Still use the floppy to transfer a file quickly although my new 1GB USB flash memory is very handy. I use floppy for bios flash and to boot a failed system.

OK, the Ti4600 has been acting up. Running one of the newer games like Doom 3 will lock it up after 5 minutes. However running an older game like medal of honor doesn't. I put a clean HD in loaded Win XP with SP2, added the newest drivers from Nvidia 66.93. I loaded Unreal 2, maxed the visuals...
