My understanding of the motivation behind NV's Fermi and future product developments

Margin will be the same as what they currently get for a CPU. Yes, cost would be lower but so would revenue because they aren't selling a GPU anymore. Net result is less revenue and profit. Would it be better if I put it in a giant font size for you?

Ironically, shrinking the discrete market hurts AMD as well. They're just cannibalizing their mainstream GPUs with Fusion. Now if they'd gotten Fusion out the door quicker, that might have helped them take CPU share from Intel, but Intel looks to have made some decent strides with SB so you're...

Current 120Hz monitors are 'locked out' from doing 3D on ATI hardware

2 ASUS models, 2 Toshiba models and a bunch of Clevo variants all have 120hz LCDs in a notebook form factor. And they're up to 4+ models/mfr's for 120hz LCD's for desktops at 1080p. Don't believe me - check for yourself at http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html

3D BluRay/TV Content and HTPCs

2x Blu-ray drives are all you need for 3D media along with a 3D capable sw player like Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra, so you're probably good with a decent drive that's out now.

Got a card in the mail yesterday too. Never got a check though. Probably because I didn't buy the BBA card directly from ATI. Took long enough - been at least a year since I sent in the claim form.

Getting a 13" Macbook pro, best 4gb of RAM, what 250-500GB HD, and Windows 7?

I've had no problems so far from the KTA-MB1066K2/4G 4GB Kit from Kingston and a 320GB WD WD3200BEVT Scorpio Blue HDD. Since I was going to be putting the old drive in an external anyhow, I just used the OS X drive utility to copy the original to the new drive via USB.

You tend to notice the jaggies a bit more when you're not getting fluid frames =P I'm sure PD was "technically" a better game, but in terms of appeal and playability it really didn't do it for me. And I do remember it being THE title to show off on n64 at the time.

Umm, actually they don't. DirectCompute in Windows 7 is not tied to DX11 hardware. NVIDIA's DX10 parts already support the compute function. CUDA has already been doing "compute" - DirectCompute and OpenCL only add to the programming options you have for GPU computing.

No, because bezels are distracting and even as someone who uses multiple monitors for 2D all day, calibrating multiple monitors (sometimes even the same models - QC FTW!) is a hassle. Give me a single 30" or larger any day over this...

question about running PhysX in a mixed card config
