tried the same hdmi on my dell with a dvi adapter, same screwed up colors, straight vga connection looks fine, so must be the cable.

HTPC HELP

Running a gigabyte mobo with hdmi out to a Hitachi rptv about 5 years old, model 57uwx20b, video card is hd 3200. I'm running hdmi to the dvi port on the tv. I get a clear picture with xbmc, but it is washed out, very dull color, I've tried every setting in ati control panel with no luck...

e8400 to q6600 quad

It is all about the price for me, i would like to have a quad core, and 189 bucks gets me the Q6600, I think I will just keep what I have now, the 8400 does fine for me, even at stock speeds. I also dont like going from 45nm to 65. This chip should last a couple more years before it starts...

I do alot of video encoding, so I'm sure it would be faster for that. Maybe I will wait for a quad til I build a new rig..

so if i was running sage tv on my xp machine downstairs, i could get the sage tv extender for upstairs, and hook it to my workgroup switch for network access, but how would the pc downstairs change the channels on the Directv Set top box upstairs? I know the tuner cards come with ir blasters...

8400 and gigabyte ds3l mild overclock help

just curious as I am an overlcocking noob, what kind of OC I could get with stock HS/fan, 2 gig of G-skill ddr2.. not looking for anything extreme, just want a little extra power without changing too many settings like voltages and such.. any help appreciated. thanks.

Keeping my s939 system a while longer

Ya My socket 939 x2 4200 has served me well also, I dont even overclock and it still chugs along, I play mostly Cod4 and it runs that great, paired with a 8800gt it has lots of life left, I bit the bullet though and ordered a 8400 wolfdale, mobo and ram, so looking forward to that upgrade from...

e8400 mobo and memory ..$300 to spend.. possible?

I have about 300 to spend on and upgrade, is it possible to get the chip, mobo, and 2 gigs of memory for 300? I prefer to use newegg. any suggestions appreciated.. doesent have to be a super overclocker.. thanks.

Wow. Crysis full version runs much smoother than the demo

that does not make sense, why would they not enable multi core support?? folks with dual core and quad core have a bad taste in there mouth because the game runs crappy and decide not to buy the full version..

overclocking asrock dual vista help

got an x2 4200 2.2 ghz Socket 939, with 2 gigs of corsair value ram and a 7900gs vid card, I know this board dosent overclock well, but i want to squeeze a little more out of it, Just wondering if anyone has a similar setup and what kind of luck they had with overclocking, .. from what I read...

I am currently running a athlon x2 4200 socket 939, 7900GS 256mb, 2 gig of value ram and Windows xp. I am thinking of upgrading to a 8800gts, but I'm afraid my cpu will be a huge bottleneck. I want to run crysis, gears of war, and ut3 on my pc. Should I go for the 8800gts, or upgrade the cpu...

HTPC or directv dvr?

I have an extra computer, its a amd 64 3000+ with 512mb ram, and a nvidea 5600 video card, small hard drive but i can get a larger one.. I know its easier to run a htpc with cable television, but I have Directv.. my question is should i go the htpc route and get a tuner card, or just pay directv...

Energizer rehcargable 4 pack AA Nihm 2000 mah and charger 10 bucks.

I cant imagine people buying non-rechargable batteries at this point, the prices have come down so low, wonder how much regular 4 pack of Energizer non rechargable batts. would cost, I'm guessing 4-5 bucks?

ya that is one version they had, they also had a version with 2 red leds on the front, and a plastic shield over the batteries that was removable.. just a little different style, but same price.

Just got back from family dollar, they have Energizer rechargable NIHM AA batteries and a charger for 10 bucks. the charger also will charge AAA batteries. I have had great luck with these batteries. Seems hot to me.

PC That could run Gears of war like the 360?

I believe GOW also draws in textures and such at the beginning of a match, I guess this is the "Streaming" technology they refer to in order to avoid lengthy loading screens.
