Any advice on the easiest way to cut the circled corners without removing the shelves from the wall? Just want to cut a square opening to slot a generic power extension cord through.

The shelf is in. I ended up using 3-1/8", #8 GRK screws with washer heads. I used five on each side. I then used one of these under the center of the shelf.
