It is working... I have the monitor. The only question I have is if a passthrough switch allow the freesync to work so that I can connect multiple HDMI sources.
Are you saying it will not work b/c there are very few monitors that support Freesync over HDMI?
The monitor is a Dell SE2717H which does support Freesync over HDMI.
I am down to a single area where my PC and game consoles are accessed. I would prefer to splurge on a decent sized monitor and have a single screen that can be used for all. My main limitation is obviously going to be inputs.
I tried searching around, but I could not find a clear definitive...
Looks like it would work. Trying to test it out on a VM b/c the last comment says that it cannot stream sound even though audio is part of the config. Can you confirm that it does?
I am helping out an old family friend setup something in his classroom for streaming live video to ~30 classrooms. I would think this could easily be done and not cost too much. Assuming he has a server running Ubuntu, what type of software is out there to accomplish this task? What about...
Title says it. Moving from from 2x128GB RAID0 to single SSD -- This is the only hardware changing, so I would think it would be easy to clone/copy the RAID0 to the new drive.
Question is -- what the easiest and cheapest (er... Free?) way to make this happen?
EDIT: The RAID0 is a software RAID
I had a single 128GB M4 SSD for a couple years before I decided to get back into gaming. When I reconfigured my build, I opted to go for adding a second 128GB M4 instead of purchasing a single, larger drive.
Well I recently purchased a Lenovo TS140 Server and now I do not have to run my...
I wanted to wait, but I could not. I am more than happy w/ my 780 purchase though (after selling my 7970 to buy it).
Best of luck to those who can wait this crazy cryptocurrency wave out :)
I just purchased a 7970 Ghz in November and turned around and sold it for $450 shipped. I didn't want to wait, so I purchased a MSI TwinFrozr 780 which will be here tomorrow.
I missed out on the codes, but I was more interested in the $50 I saved with MASTERPASS promo.
By the time I get through my backlog, the games they offered will be cheap lol...
Good information. I'll keep it in mind b/c it is a decent jump from 280x to 290.
Got to get a good night of BF4 in. I didn't get the card out today b/c buyer was late with the payment last night. One more good night and I'll get it packed up and ready for in the morning :D
I've actually been looking and I think I'd be fine with a R9 280x. It's equivalent to what I had (maybe slightly better), which I was happy with. I'm not going to game higher than 1080p.
If I can get one when they start to come back in stock, I can come out ahead...
-$220 AR for my 7970...
I am worried about the price climbing on the non-ref 290s because it looks like the current ones are even going up and going OOS quickly.
What's to say they don't do the same when the non-ref are released in a month or two?
No gaming for the holidays b/c I just sold off my XBOX 360 too lol
I am actually thinking about pulling the trigger on a 780 since I might be using Linux as well. Nvidia has always been better for that...
You're saying a 20 to 25% increase over a crossfire 7970? Because it would be more than that from a single 7970 -> 290x, right?
Edit: Nevermind, 2x 7970 would be 30-40% faster probably.
I'll probably just wait and pick up a 280x one day.
I've been wanting to get back into PC gaming for a while now and with the $220 AR deal on the 7970, I finally have a decent card again.
The question now becomes if I should look for a good deal on a 7970/50 as they're phased out or go wait and get a 280x when a decent deal comes along.
The...
FWIW, XBMC with windows works really well. The only issues I have ever had would be with with HDMI audio and ALSA.
I've used linux many times over the years and ALSA always gives me fits. But once you get it working all should be good.
Is there any tax benefit for an unborn child? My wife is 25 weeks pregnant.
Would the medical costs be deductible? For instance, she had already met her deductible for this year, but since the baby is not due until April we had to repay our deductible and other costs.
We've paid ~$3k the last...
The money is post-tax off my paycheck. 1099-B will actually come from E Trade as they manage the plan. I was just curious exactly how to handle it. Once I get everything in I will come back to this thread.
It may be the first time I actually consult with a CPA for filing as well.
I have a question regarding the sale of stock. As this is my first time selling, and I wasn't sure how it would work under the circumstances of a Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
With the ESPP at my company we get 15% less the LOWEST value on Jan 1 or Jun 30 (first offering) and the...
When installing from Amazon, it will "appear" that it is downloading, but I noticed after my 3rd try that it was going 60-70MB/s. With my 16mbit connection it became apparent that it wasn't actually "downloading" (more like extracting).
This was important to me b/c this month I built a new...
Out of all the comments in this thread, you point about 6970 seems to make the most sense in my situation. I can buy a 6970 and probably still have some extra cash after the sale of my 6870.
