Yeah i always loved folks complaining about horrible internet connection and when checking the traffic, finding have the bandwidth gone to streaming video, music and filesharing.
The ATI Radeon 9800 Pro's are pretty power hungry, so might be a problem if other devices are attached to the same cord.

Just replaced an Asus A8V Rev2 myself after i couldnt even get it to post.
Got same board as replacement with an older bios (1007 - replaced one had 1008 supposedly) and works now like a charm.
Did a fresh install of winxp sp2 too and no issues so far.

I'll give you a few hints what you could check as well if you havent done it already.

I just upgraded from an ASUS P4V800-X with a VIA PT800 chipset to an ASUS A8V Rev. 2 with K8T800Pro.
Both use the VT 8237 RAID-Controller for SATA.

Ok, board was replaced by the vendor today, after the techie checked components again and didnt get it to work(i carried my big tower into the shop with all my own attached equipment for this).
And today he didnt get it to post by using his own graphic card and memory either.

He used the same CPU i bought and according to Asus the bios 1007 and later support Winchester Athlon 64.
And i dont get any error beeps.
I see the keyboard initializing but nothing past that, and i didnt even have a keyboard attached all the time.
