Gigabyte/AMD 64 3200+ boot failure after small OC

Hard reset worked. Left it all unplugged for bout 3 hours. Battery out, jumper on, mobo power disconnected, power supply disconnected. Reverted to f3 bios w/ internet updater. Back to normal :) :) :P Thanks for your help

Yea...I'm trying the complete disconnect right now. I'll leave it be for awhile. And I also plan on trying gigabyte support. Hopefully it's worth a shit. I def don't plan on mentioning oc. Just the bios updates. :) Thanx for your help, and if you have any other ideas, let me know...

Yea...it basically doesn't boot. It has gone from absolutely nothing, to showing the post screen. but it doesn't get anywhere. It recognizes the cpu as an AMD 3200, but won't read the fsb speed. And that's where it locks, and requires cmos reset to get back to that point. About the...

Damn, don't tell me that :( I will prob. end up trying just for the hell of it. I don't think it had this problem with the 1002 retail, so it must be bios sensitive. Keep me updated.

Please Post A8N SLI Deluxe 1004 Beta BIOS link

Well I was going to try that, but I get the same message some people on these boards got: "Fail to reserve dmi data in EEPROM" when using the update utility. I don't have a floppy either, so I can't try the alt-f2 method :/ Was hoping this one would work without needing a floppy.

Ok, so 1003-07 is still doing the same thing. Computer is completely fine when it posts, but takes about 5 retries after completely powering down. Guess I will try the 1003-08 or 1003-final bios now. Sigh.

Had the exact same problem as everyone else did with that BIOS. Flashed it to get rid of error during overclocked reboot, then cut power and rearranged my cables to find my computer not posting. I reset CMOS about 5 times and it eventually worked. Flashed to the new 1003-07 bios and...

Newest beta-BIOS will have the pci-lock feature. I know I didn't have it with my default BIOS version. Watch out for your ncq drives if you plan on flashing tho :)

A8N SLI Failure?

Had a pretty similar problem happen to me last week. I booted down to rearrange my cables, changed molex over for my cold cathode, and when attempting to boot back up would not post. I hit the reset button, it booted fine but then had stability problems. AFter that it failed to post 9/10...

A8N-SLI Deluxe - "Working OK" official list.

Got mine setup and installed no problems at all. Ran into the usual BSOD during overclocking, updated BIOS and have had no probs so far. A+ would buy again

Fumuda: I had the same problem with BIOS not liking the overclock when I would reboot. I flashed the BIOS to the beta-driver and it stopped doing it. Hope that helps.

Well, after tinkering with the settings for the last hr and a half I finally got it to boot at 2.4Ghz with settings of FSB266*9, HT 5x, 2.5/3/3/8 timings, DDR at 2.75 and vCore at 1.5. Although it crashed during 3dmark05 :( Figured the highest stable OC for me without lowering the HT to 3x...

Ok, found the 1.03 beta bios and got it downloaded. Now I'm just not sure how to flash it. It's a .bin file so woudl I need to make an image file out of it and burn it to cd? I've been having some problems with BSOD's and would like some assistance. Thanks guys!

Also, I didn't try the ddr400 - then boot to AI Nos method. I just simply changed the multi in the bios to 10x and started upping the FSB. Is the other method better, or would I max out at the same speed? (2.2Ghz) I'm just curious as to why it's not getting over a simple 200mhz OC...
