Anyone else excited about the new C7 Corvette?

The back has now become more flat and slab sided. The rectangular lights and detailing doesn't help make the back look any less awkward or bulbous. If the 350Z had the big back end problem, the Corvette has it on an even worse scale with that design. Also, what is wrong with the glass behind...

Motor Trend Best Driver Car 2012

Ah, I thought he was talking about the GT, but on the other hand, the 2013 GT500 since it switched to a new engine design, already weighs 3852lbs. Minus the SC and plumbing, you're left with a GT Premium package that's at 3618lbs SC and plumbing is not that heavy, 234lbs is already quite the...

What is your car WORTH to you?

You have a MR2 V6 with what I presume is the 3.0L swap? Hell if there's no major problems,I'll take it off your hands for $2 grand.

Motor Trend Best Driver Car 2012

Hopefully the Mustang isn't 3800lbs. The current one is absolutely massive as it is at ~3600lbs, it's the size of a Toyota Camry. The Mustang hopefully is lighter and smaller, more like 3400-3500lbs and smaller. The Current Mustang is a big, muscly car, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make it...

    Thoughts on Sleeping Dogs?

I don't like the movement system in this game on foot, I hate how there's a walk button and how the sprint/parkour button are the same damn button. On the other hand, driving is the best I've ever felt in a free world game. A game with a name like Grand Theft Auto could get it so absolutely...

What is best gaming PC build for $3,000 or less

I have a dual monitor, overclocked 3570, with 32GB of ram and SLI GTX 670s and it cost me less than 3 grand and I absolutely splurged needlessly on every component. What is your brother looking to do with the computer and does he really need a $3000 computer when he likely wont see any...

    The all important stripe question

The MSRP was $42K so it was Boss price, I could have done it, but I absolutely cannot get a car anymore without the knowledge there is some sort of view of the sky and light coming in from overhead. I spent a few thousand hours last year in the belly of a Stryker ICV and I get anxiety just...

    The all important stripe question

Yeah, I originally leaned towards white, but 1. Blue/White That's Shelby specific livery for Mustangs 2. IMO Grabber Blue is so bright already, white looks a little overboard

    The all important stripe question

Well, thread necro, but I finally got it done today. I think it's different enough to not be confused with the 2013 Boss, but rather a GT with some custom stripes. The actual inspiration the graphics guy used was from the 1970 Boss 302.

Worst Oil Change Ever? Oh Boy!

If you're saving the money, you might as well buy a quality filter and oil, something like Purolator/Bosch, Wix, OEM or Mobil 1 or the like and some nice oil that costs more than $2 a quart. Off topic ish, but I used to work for a FORD dealership and I'd do the quick lube work tickets all the...

Hmm, I was thrown off by the 9.5" wheel AFAIK, all 392s came with 9" wide wheels (20x9s).

Why oh why is there never enough hp...?

You have a Coyote 5.0 with bolt ons don't you? I took mine out yesterday for some runs on these miles and miles of traffic less, unpopulated Alaska roads and I'd say go for more tire. I don't know who made the decision to go square 255s on all corners, but with RWD, in 1st or 2nd, there's just...

Lincoln finally moves their designs away from Ford

And so it comes full circle. The original S197 was supposed to be on a modified DEW98 but for cost reasons the DEW98 Lite was further modified into the D2C. Now Ford wants to modify the D2C for the next gen to go back to IRS and double wishbone. I mean at that point, might as well just revive...

    GTX670 Sli crashes constantly

As part of testing, I updated the bios to 1206 from June 8th, which was the latest. It was shipped with 1015 from May 10th. With both bioses, I manually set PCI-E 2.0 and it would work fine on both, while setting it on Auto or PCI-E 3.0 would cause system lockups and a few times entire system...

    GTX670 Sli crashes constantly

Thanks everyone, it's been solved, the Asus P8Z77V-Pro is incompatible with the Windforce OC GTX670 in PCI-E 3.0 mode. Dropped it into 2.0 and it's run BFBC2 for 4 hours perfectly fine even oc'ed to 1006mhz core and 6500mhz memory.

    GTX670 Sli crashes constantly

Wow thanks all, that's crazy, I've always used ASUS or Gigabyte in my builds for MBs and graphics cards and I thought they were top notch. I wish I'd know about the issue about PCI-E 3.0 sooner. I'll try out all the suggestions, but that's disappointing that PCI-E3.0 might have to be disabled...

    GTX670 Sli crashes constantly

I recently got a GTX670 SLI from Gigabyte. It's the triple fan windforce and I've tried, but it just wont work. I've tried the 301.xx signed drivers, the 304.xx beta drivers, I've flashed the bios from the original shipped F2 to the latest F4 on both cards, switched the order of the cards, I've...

What are the benefits of a high 80+ rating?

So from what I understand, a 80+ Gold or platinum rating give better power efficiency, but how about the performance of the PSU itself? Does a high quality gold or platinum unit have better voltage regulation over a high quality 80+ bronze or silver? I don't pay for electricity, extra...

To add HP or just do a restore.

Well, of course we are talking about stock. Let me turn that argument on you for a second though, Peak power is almost never a true indication of performance on turbo cars like that. When you have a 3L trying to spin something like a GT4294, you'll end up with a dyno queen instead of anything...

How do people with modified cars work out insurance?

Yeah, my bad, I haven't slept in a couple days, I'm not sure where Eliminator came from, I think it was because I've been thinking about doing C clip eliminators on the axle for the last couple hours. That sounds like the perfect setup though, I've been looking prices for 4032 Mahle pistons and...

How do people with modified cars work out insurance?

The New T56 Magnum XL is rated to 700ft/lbs with a 26 spline and eliminates the remote shifter linkage that the MT82 has. Hmm, I assumed you were running upgraded forged internals, but the original Eliminator internals were a beast IIRC.

How do people with modified cars work out insurance?

Well that's reassuring, but what about guys like AdamK47 or Exdeath? I plan in the long term to build up a fairly reliable, forged, bored/stroked N/A motor and bulletproof drivetrain. My end goal is 600RWHP from a minimum 8000rpm redline V8 which is going to cost me from what I can tell closer...

To add HP or just do a restore.

We truly are living in the golden age of the automobile. To add HP or just do a restore.

Well, nostalgia is just want middle aged men have lived through twice so at some point, any cool car for the era is going to be a classic. I'd personally say do a restomod and go for performance. Just remember to keep the original parts in as good a shape as possible in storage. You've still...

How do people with modified cars work out insurance?

I was just wondering, with these cars I see posted on here that obviously have mods that add a significant price to your car, who do you insure with? Do you find Hagherty's or Grundy's Premiums lower than say Progressive or USAA after you fill out the modification list? At what point do you find...

NZXT Phantom vs Rosewill THOR V2

A vote for the Thor, Built my buddy a PC with the Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra and it's definitely not a bad case. Rosewill build quality isn't exceptional, but it's not bad in any way and the cases work very well keeping thermals in check.

How does PCI-E lane division work?

Ahh, thanks for the replies, I had no idea the chipset still had PCI-E lanes. I assumed all PCI-E was shifted to the CPU and a system had only 16 lanes total.

    Wax that lasts 3 months?

I've been looking for anyone that does that, have any idea if anyone does it professionally in Fairbanks, Alaska? I would do it myself, but I don't even have access to a water hose normally so the process can be quite difficult.

How does PCI-E lane division work?

I understand new Z77s have 16 lanes, but if I have a PCI-E 1x sound card and I want to go for SLI GTX670s, does that means I'll have 1 card run at 8x, 1 at 4x and the damn sound card run at 1x, bottlenecking my GTX670s? Is the only way around this getting a PLX chip equipped motherboard?

    xfx HD 4870 1GB

I have no idea where you get your information form, but the cpu is not that big of a deal. The FX-4100 is a decent choice for the price if he was absolutely budget constrained. A i3-2120 is better for ~$20 more, but considering he's putting a card from 2008 in his rig, it probably came down to...

argh, 19" tires so expensive. Anyone wanna trade wheels?

If you want to just straight up sell the wheels, let me know. I got the brembos, but I'm going to need a 2nd set of wheels and winter tires in Alaska. Depending on the width, I'd be interested. I'm looking for 9" fronts and 9.5 or 10" rears for the summer tires so I can transfer 255 width...

Crysis 2 (doesn't seem to look bad as initial reviews claimed)

It is not, but quality does not account for taste. The game itself had AAA production values. Under another name, say Halo ODST:NYC or Battlefield 2141, it would probably have worked alright, but it is a game in the Crysis franchise. The issue with that is Crysis was new and fresh. It's hard to...

I'm not sure which model or year you have some crazy method to do this. AFIAK, Mercedes uses some vaccum machine to do the change by sucking the oil out of a tube.
