9800pro owners:

First thing I did was remove the small fan and point a quiet 80mm fan at the stock heatsink. Very cool and quiet now. Nothing but hate for small fans. =)

windows wont shut off my monitor!

Who's to say he isn't the one paying the electric bill? I'm always certain to turn off my monitor whenever I walk out. It's the times when I fall asleep (as the result of leaving WMP on) at the computer that I have a problem. :o

Mine does the same thing, but only if I leave WMP running. If I use Winamp, the monitor shuts off fine. Easily reproduceable. Don't know what else it could be on your case though. :(

Acer laptops any good?

I have a TM4000LCI. I think the build quality is pretty nice. It's a much more solid build than their Aspire series. My only complaint with my TM is the CPU won't throttle, and runs at 1.4GHz constantly. I'm waiting for a reply from Acer on that. Other than that, for the lower end, these...

help...i need an inexpensive but quality laptop !!!

I've gotten to like the lower end Acer laptops on Newegg. Ones like this aren't too bad with a ram upgrade. There's some others that cost less than this if you don't mind a Celeron M (not such a bad chip IMO). Sounds about right for what you're looking for.

Buying a used card on the forum

I just recently had to RMA my BFG Ti4200. The fellow on the phone (You have to phone them for an RMA) asked when/where I bought it and after that gave me instructions on how to package it and the address to send it. There was never any mention of the receipt of sale. I'd agree with Duster...

Trouble with the PNY rebates from BF2004

Thanks for the replies, guys. I called them up and they said I'd have to photo copy the original UPC off the card and snail mail that in. They already have the little proof of purchase from the box. The only thing I can blame PNY about is outsourcing their rebate services to complete...
