    Nice rig in the works.... :) I have been the VapoChill (PE) route, and have since retired it in favor of good watercooling gear. ;) Just be sure the mobo is compatible with starting the LS, double check your insulation job, set the clamshell heaters properly, and you should be golden...

    Try lowering the FSB and raising the multiplier.... I knocked mine back to 264, (264.5 CPUZ) and raised the multiplier to 14 to run 3.7GHz. I had the RAM timings @ 5-5-5-15 when dialing-in the higher multiplier, then went back and tightened them up after I stability tested the processor...

    How about 24 hours of Small FFTs? ;) A few good AutoGK encoding sessions will also show any stability weakness that Orthos missed. I am currently shooting for 3.7GHz... It has taken many hours of testing, but when/if 3.7GHz goes in my sig, you can bet the farm it is rock-solid-stable... NO...

    That is why you run Memtest86+ or Orthos overnight... ;) I run Orthos overnight, then finish-up to the 24 hour mark (see 3.6GHz link in my sig) while doing other tasks... :)

    What issues does Orthos have with Conroe? I managed 24+ hours Orthos stable @ 3.6GHz (so far) with my X6800.... I was not aware that 3 runs of 3DMark06 is all that is required for stability testing nowadays... :confused: I will still go with my usual hours of Memtest86+, dual P95 (Orthos)...

    Instead of going straight to a high FSB, start out @ default clock and VCore. Slowly bump the FSB up and see how high you can go @ default VCore. (Orthos stable) When Orthos craps-out, bump the VCore up a notch, and start raising the FSB again. Rinse.. repeat... :P Keep the RAM speed and...

    Since you were getting RAM errors, I would work on that by first bumping up the VDIMM a notch at a time, and running Memtest86+ test 5 and 8 for awhile. If that fails, try relaxing the timings. EDIT: What is your VCore set at? You may want to try a better HSF than the retail...

    I have an X6800 @ 3.5GHz stable on the retail HSF ATM, but the fan really howls under full load, and gets hotter than a $2.00 pistol..... :D For any long-term OC'ing, a good HSF (or watercooling) is a must. ;)

    Memtest and prime95

    For testing purposes, Memtest86+ should be run for at least a couple of hours. I usually let it loop overnight. JSFLY: If you really are interested in a stable rig, go ahead and run some Memtest86+ loops.... ;)
