Unsecured wireless network at our business

Build a smoothwall linux router and set the wireless up on the orange side. Seperate subnet that can not get into the green side.

Simple networking question

get the 5 port, it works fine, and if you only have 2 systems, why bother with a bigger switch. I have the small 5 port netgear between my HTPC and two other systems and it does what I wanted it to do.

SOS!! Unable to OC E6300 even slightly

What did you have your memory set at when you overclocked? When it was making the "TRRR" noise was it showing a post on the screen. Sounds to me like maybe you were hearing your motherboards error signal. Long beep meaning overclock fail. What voltage do you have going to the memory?

Have you tested it with known working memory? Tested with known working power supply? If you have access to more hardware, test everything, otherwise you are just guessing really.

How much processing power is required to view HD content on a PC?

I think you are confused what a router is used for. I am guessing you just want a wired connection between your computers downstairs for faster transfer speeds? If so, just connect them with a crossover wire or a simple switch. You can still use the router as a switch if that is all you have...

I am not sure why you can't boot to your cdrom. Is the BIOS set to do so? If that is true, then put the drive in your newer laptop. Format and sys the drive. Copy your win98 folder over. Put it in the old one and boot to the c drive. Run your setup. This would probably work the best...

wait untill after the bios posts and just as the hard drive starts, just push F8 a few times. Its all in the timing. Holding it down wont work.

Windows XP Pro disk management - basic vs. dynamic hard drive

I am not really worried about loosing a drive. I never had a hdd fail, and if one does, I loose recorded shows, and DVDs images I can just create again. Nothing really that important.

Once and for all, MCE 2005 is neither Home or Pro. It is Media Center Edition. It is just another version of XP. You can't call it Home, because it has Remote Desktop. You can't call it Pro because it can not join a domain.
