Gigabit over Cat5?

I ran a speed test at work and didn't see any difference in CAT5 and CAT5e on gigabit. What matters the most is that all wire pairs are connected.

My concern is how well a PCIe 1x card will fit, with or without this new heat sink. If my Audigy 2 was a PCIe card, it would be right on top of the chipset fan. Rumor is that the Audigy 5 will support PCIe, and if it does I'm getting one. I guess it could be plugged in the second video card...

I suppose my disk errors and the Windows hanging/not booting could have been two separate problems. You know, one thing that I have done differently this time was not install the Cool & Quiet drivers... I wonder could that have something to do with it?
