    linksys wrt54g router with 128 bit wap key enabled. tivo works fine to it. new dell inspiron 6000 with intel wireless pro 2200 b/g wireless card says it sees it my router, i typed in the wap key and it took it fine. great signal strength (sitting 10 ft away anyhow)--speed = 54.0 mMbps...

    how to get on the admin setting of a linksys wireless router

    if 'admin' doesnt work for the pwd, i think the old models used '1234'. if the pwd was changed, use a pen or paper clip to hold in the reset button for 10 secs to reset the router. maybe that would reset pwd as well?

    tiger- i personally wont buy a laptop at the basic xga resolution. maybe if it was one of those little 700m screens. i like the sxga+ you got. and with teh dedicated gfx card on that model, 700 seems good but only for personal use.

    are sata 2.0 cables diff from sata 1.0?

    i bought a sata cable from best buy (yes i paid the outlandish $19 instead of waiting for newegg to deliver). it said it was a sata 2.0 cable and that it allowed transfer rates of 150 vs 133 MB/sec. is there an actual difference in a sata 2.0 vs the 1.0 cable?
