    okay, so remove your cpu and see if it boots. Your CPU is still needed. Without one, you would have no way of processing data, and hence no OS would ever function. A faster CPU does help with boot times, but only minimally. The faster your hard drive and memory the faster it should boot.

    correct me if i'm wrong, but the FX-51 came only in the S940 flavor. Plus the extra cache really doesn't help that much. Compare a S939 Winnie 3500+ to the FX-51, and you might notice there is very little difference, if only because S940 uses buffered ram.

    Well first and fore most, get more ram. Then check your page file and see if it needs to be larger. Defrag the partition that contains your windows installation. Scan for spyware and viruses. But I guarantee that your problem is the memory.

    The anti-static feature seems to be more of a gimmick than anything. Don't worry about static unless you have a lot charged up. And grounding yourself on the case is always a good practice when installing hardware.

    Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU

    Agreed CraigRT, this PSU is very nice. Its as stable as they come and its quiet. That, coupled with the fact that it looks good and isn't messy, make for one heckuva PSU. This gets my recommendation any day, over any other PSU.

    The Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU is just sweet. Not only is it very quiet compared to my older generic 300W PSU, but its 12V rail runs in 34A. Anyone who claims that this PSU is unstable clearly has recieved a defective one.
