Intel X-25M G2 TRIM Firmware RELEASED (02HA)

The repair feature actually worked so I didn't have to reinstall. TRIM is now enabled and everything seems to be working ok. Windows 7 experience score dropped 1 point on HDD for whatever reason though.

Borked my Win7 64 installation. It is trying to do a repair now but I'm not that hopeful. Didn't have that much on it anyways so not a big deal to reinstall.

Yeah, current rumors are the 2408 will be orderable next week and available about two weeks after that. So, if you aren't in a hurry, you should see some reviews popping up within three weeks. But, I've already decided that's what I am getting.

That's the big question. Ordered one when they had the order page up and then the page just disappeared along with my order. Got mailed and called by Dell offering me the 2407 for $100 less which apparently is what has happened to several other people at other forums. So, nobody knows...

Thanks for the suggestions. Just got the speakers (the soundcard is still a couple days away). The subwoofer that comes with those speakers seems ridiculously huge to me. I have the speakers hooked up via analog right now. I may just keep the same configuration as I had with my previous...

Ok, that's the part that confuses me. I thought I was upgrading by going with digital speakers that could be used with digital output on my new soundcard. This is not the case? It kind of sounds like I should go with the same connections that I had with my old setup.

You will likely have your monitor longer than any other computer component so spend the extra money. (Happy Dell 2001FP owner here).

ASUS A8N-SLI BIOS AI auto-overclock

In the ASUS A8N-SLI BIOS, there is a setting that is an A.I. auto-overclock of up to 10%. What exactly is it doing when you choose that? What settings is it changing it the background? The only one I see change is the CPU something going from 200 to 220. But, it must be more than this...

Screen flashes black when surfing web

Anybody? This is extremely annoying. Any clues as to what it would be since it doesn't seem to be driver related? It does it whether I have SLI enabled or not.

I had this problem a long time ago and it was caused by the 2d & 3d clock speeds being different. But, now they are the same and I am getting this problem again. The screen just flashes black for a second. II have tried several driver versions and it happens on my WinXP and WinXP 64 boot drives...

Which BIOS version should I use for ASUS A8N?

When it starts to boot up, press Tab at the ASUS BIOS picture. It will show you your version number at the bottom of the screen.

Umm... can't answer you on the memory. I'm sure somebody else more technical here could. I ran Memtest on the memory in my other machine and got no errors.

Well, Andy from OCZ over on their forums just ok'd me to RMA my PSU. So, guess I'm gonna do that now. What I'm wondering is if my DFI mobo is not shot and needs to be RMA'd?

Yes, I tested with the case connections to the mobo on. I believe that the DFI board has manual power and reset switches on it that I can try. This case does not a reset switch. The thing is that this mobo worked for a few days unlike the ASUS mobo's which never POST'ed. This

I had tried about everything at one time or another including putting it together outside the case. The DFI board actually has a power switch on it so I can bypass the case switch. The other PSU I have is an Antec 480 I believe. I'm just concerned that the PSU is cauing the mobo's to go...

So, what should I do next? Short history of no POST with this computer: Tried different PSU, reseated, put together outside case, etc... RMA'd mobo RMA'd cpu RMA'd mobo Had videocards, CPU, RAM tested Replaced ASUS with DFI Worked for about 5 days and now no POST/video signal again...

Not exactly sure what you are asking. I have tried switching different power supplies and switching which rails go to what on my motherboard (and disconnected extraneous devices).

Enabling SATA/NCQ on DFI ultra nf4

Device Manager - IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers - 2nd NVIDIA nForce4 AMDA Controller - Properties - Primar/Secondary Channel - Enable command queing Had mine running for a couple of days now without issue. I think it automatically enabled once I installed the latest nForce4 mobo drivers.

Thanks. The one thing I still want to know is when you say "2.5-3-3-10", what do those settings equate to in the BIOS? Can I drop the multiplier with this CPU? I thought they were locked.

Oh, and by the way, I'm extremely n00b at OC'ing new systems. With my old system, I just increased FSB and that was pretty much it.
