k8n Neo 2 platinum bios update problem

Hi i was having some problem with my USB controllers because they would not work in 2.0, so i updated the bios to 1.B0 which says it fixes the bios issue, But now when i try to go into the bios, the system crashes, nothing show up. Windows loads up perfectly fine though. However i get these...

71.84 temp readings on 6800GT

Thanks JBT, i contacted EVGA, and i have to RMA, unfortunately they won't send me a new fan and i can't replace my fan, otherwise it will void the warranty.

71.84 temp readings on 6800GT

Question, how do i overclock my vga to 402? i have the evga 6800gt, and my idle temps around 74~80, and when i try to play either farcry or counterstrike, it goes upto 120, and it shuts down my games saying it's overheating. it's been like that for the last few days.

Just installed ZALMAN 7000B AlCu - Very happy

i reapplied the artic silver and spread it out better this time and reinstalled the zalman, and now i am getting idle temps of 29C, ambient 29~31C and load around 52C. Is that strange?

Recommended Fan Controller?

I am in the same boat now, my system is too noisy and decided to buy a fan controller. However my case is the Thermaltake sunami and i am afraid if I get the sunbeam rhobeaus then the nobs will prevent the door from closing. My second choice is this...

I've been using the screen on portait mode for a while, not bad at all, now i can read the weekly jumps with scrolling. However there is something that i have noticed, and i don't know if this is common or just an issue with the monitor: if you go into portrait mode, you will notice 2 things...

I belive it's 6 bit, not that it is mentioned anywhere, the manual kinda sucks actually. And i notice a few errors in displaying any videos at full screen as well (Strechted lines). Games are amazing though, just tried day of defeat and counterstrike, even though the gamma is a little off.

Just got the VP171b yesterday for $438 Cdn. No dead pixels, very good colors. However it was too bright, i had to reduce the brightness. Great monitor, just 2 flaws, the power plug is a bit loose and comes off sometimes, and the Pivot Pro software gives me the blue screen of death, which...

What do people see in beer?

When I was in Nairobi, i took weekend classes at a public school, and sometimes when I used(had to go badly) the worm/insect infested bathroom, i always smelled something bad. Beer too me smells like that. Since then, i don't like the stuff.

Dell OEM Windows XP CD

From what I know, you can only have XP installed on one machine, and your case it should work. I installed linux on my 8100, and took my OEM XP and installed on my desktop. It asked me for activation which i did without no hassle. You can also call Microsoft and activate it with them. Either way...

Does anyone have a Zalman CNPS7700-Alcu??

Be carefull when buying this, it takes a bit of space on the motherboard, i just got it today, and installed it and there is about 1cm between the cooler and my video card. Make sure you have enough space on the mobo, it's quite wide.

PSU - OCZ, Enermax, Ultra

I don't know why people are putting down the Ultra-X, I am using and it is very good, quite, and stable. I have a clear case, so it looks kewl too (not that it matters much performance wise).

CLEAR CASES PROS ASND CONS

Pros: looks kewl, and you can see the inside workings, and as Heene05 mentioned, you can make sure things are running smoothly. Cons: hiding wire is hard but possible. But biggest problem of all, you end up being obsessed with the dust collecting inside (my problem :( )
