The default user account template is located in /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj (there are others for French, German, etc.). Just put the right files in the right places, and that's it.

    Is Mac anygood?

No, just some detailed info on the chip itself. All I could find on Intel's site was a bunch of bullet points.

    Is Mac anygood?

It should be fine from a speed perspective, but some people have had problems running it in Rosetta. There doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern behind it though. Is it? It supports a DX9 level feature set, but it does do some big stuff in software (T&L) so it's slower than it would...

    Is Mac anygood?

No, since the GMA 950 doesn't meet the minimum spec for the graphics hardware.

    Is Mac anygood?

It certainly wouldn't hurt, but I don't know enough about how Windows XP manages memory to tell you if the difference is as big as it is under OS X.
  11. E

    Is Mac anygood?

Under OS X more ram makes a big difference, especially with an Intel machine. You'll want to bump the ram up to 1 or 2 GB.

    Is Mac anygood?

Let's see: You can't run it natively, but if you really want to you can install Boot Camp and dual boot between OS X and Windows XP. The MacBooks (non pro) use an Intel GMA 950, so it won't be a gaming powerhouse, even running Windows. Other stuff should be just fine.

    Is Mac anygood?

Not really. It depends on what games you play and how often you do it. As fast any PC notebook with similar specs.

Mac OS X is slowe than Windows XP

Most of the difference is because Apple's OpenGL isn't as optimized (or is optimized in different places) as OpenGL in Windows. Here's a good explanation of it; specifically discussing Doom 3:

using the second mouse button in OS 9.2.2?

Mac OS 9 was the last version of the "Classic" Mac OS. It was arguably the best version, although that's still not very good by modern standards.

    Who has PCI Express 4X?

The same people who would pay $200(?) for a physics accelerator. Which is someone with a lot of money, a recently-built, high-end machine, and a willingness to buy bleeding-edge computer hardware.

How do I install classic Mac OS 9 for use with OS X's classic mode?

Macs made in the past few years can't boot OS 9, so Classic has to be installed from the cds that came with the machine.

Noob Question: New Mac Notebooks, can run windows?

    Compiling to .apps in Linux?

The extension .app means that the file is an application package, where the actual binary is combined with it's resources (.nibs, frameworks, etc.) and functions as one file at the Finder level. And Mac OS X uses Mach-O (and an older Carbon one I can't quite recall, CFM?) for it's binary...
