I've been able to ping by the domain name in CMD prompt but not resolve the name in browser's before, and the suggestion I made worked. Just an FYI...figured since it worked for me, it might work for the OP. s/he can take it or leave it and s/he sees fit.
I didn't see a mention of whether you'd tried connecting in IE and/or Firefox using only the IP address, rather than www.google.com. If you haven't already, try it like this: http://74.125.45.103 If that works, you have a DNS resolution problem, not a NIC problem. If *that* is the case, go to...
piotrgurin,
your setup should be: TimeWarner cable modem connected to router (built-in DHCP & switching) connected to your computer(s). the router will take the one external IP address and will hand out internal IP addresses to all computers connected to it. It will also handle all the...
A quick note...if you originally hooked the modem to the laptop ethernet port then unplugged that and went from modem to desktop ethernet, it might not work because the router/ISP is still trying to hook up to the MAC address of the laptop NIC. Try plugging the ethernet from modem to desktop...
This may or may not help, but when in a workgroup, you have to ensure that the username/pass with which you're logged onto the local computer matches the credentials set up on the remote machine. Otherwise, you'll get the prompt for creds. Usually you can just check the box to remember your...
I live in San Antonio, too, and will return there in about a month. It's been great driving around here in Kuwait during my deployment...until about 2 months ago the Kuwaitis were providing all the "MOGAS" (gasoline) and "JP8" (diesel) for us. Uncle Sam pays them for it now, but I still just...
At first I was thinking that she shouldn't be talking to him like a little child...then he started acting like one. That's pretty funny that it was on air, though.
I was thinking it, but wanted to be nice and not say anything. Anyway, quakefiend, if she's as pretty on the inside as on the outside, you've got a good thing going.
Here is mine...actually a bit cooler than usual:
Today / Ten Day forecast
EDIT: For those who don't want to wait for the linked page to load, the forecast for today is 119 F for a high and 91 F for a low. Zero % chance of precip. NNW winds at 19 mph.
The retail version will work fine on Dell, Gateway, Toshiba, etc. The Dell OEM version will only work on systems where it can find a valid Dell service tag number in the BIOS of the motherboard. The issue is not the CD key.
Edit: Okay, after reading the posts just above this one...if...
The information that the OEM version of the s/w will look for is IN the motherboard. It's not on a piece of paper attached to the motherboard. THAT is why Renob said it will only install on a system with a Dell mobo.
My wife does nothing of the sort, but apparently I do. Examples:
Was working tech support for a digital camera maker (unnamed) and sat up in bed one night yelling at a caller, "just send it back cuz all of our cameras are CRAP!"
Was studying for Network+ certification and woke my wife up...
Once a long time ago I had the "woman song", done by the same guy. It was a really crappy copy, though, and he sang it so fast he was REALLY hard to understand. I deleted it after awhile. I'm sure it's still out there somewhere, though.
Got all four out at the same time back in High School. They gassed me, so I didn't feel a thing. Recovery was not bad, either. Just make sure you clean the holes out effectively. You do NOT want dry socket.
Here's to a successful operation and a speedy recovery!
I've had to use the gas pedal when backing up my Dakota pickup truck out on construction sites and such (backing up to houses/into driveways with steep inclines). Just like going forward, letting the clutch out and pressing the gas in makes the truck go faster. I wasn't aware there were...
With the litigious nature of our society, I'm surprised the manager would have the gall to do something like that. Whether you consider it right or wrong, it still has the potential for huge reprecussions. Those don't just have to be legal, either. Can you imagine if work got around town that...
I'm glad you eventually got it to work, but the question I would ask is, "if the 5.7s worked flawlessly, why change?" Something about "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Do the 5.8s really add that much functionality that you needed to upgrade? Is there a noticeable difference in performance...
I have a fairly typical Texan attitude toward France, but I wouldn't cheer if this happened there. In fact, I wouldn't cheer if it happened anywhere. It's a sad commentary on the human race that it happened at all...even more so that someone would cheer about it.
reminds me of "fvck ass" in Boondock Saints. loved when he screamed that in front of the nuns at the hospital. if you haven't seen the movie, go see it. you'll see what I mean.
to all you naysayers...my wife didn't turn 17 until we'd already been married for 2 months. we're closing in on 7 years and it keeps getting better each and every day. of course, I do believe that we have a marriage that is an exception, rather than the norm.
sounds to me like "K" is a better match for you. plus...she did express interest first. you're not bound to "A" (yet), so you shouldn't feel guilty about not picking her. don't know about lying to her about it, though. i'm not big on that sort of thing. i know i'm probably not much help...
moshquerade...you are right. we were asked by the support battalion here if we wanted to sign up. if we expressed interest in receiving care packages, they put our names/ranks/addresses down. we weren't pressured, but given the opportunity. some took the offer, some didn't, but they all...
Going for the Spyders is also a good idea because each of them offers upgrade/accessory options. I know the autococker does, too, but it's nice to have a couple of different ones that are setup to your liking, or even an extra in case one breaks or you have someone else join you who doesn't...
Rogue has a great point. In fact, anything I receive in care packages that can be of use, or may be wanted, by the Iraqi kids I immediately send to some of my buddies in up in Iraq for distribution. When I tell the folks back home that parts/all of their care packages are hitting here in...
If you were a woman that would be an easy one, because I'm a man...so I've never right. I'm guessing "David Brent" isn't a female's handle, though, so I'd have to say, and vote, that I am right. I have to be once in awhile, right? ;)
and thanks for your support and appreciation. it sucks over here, but at least I can find some time once and a while to get on ATOT. talk about a morale boost! :D:thumbsup:
