is it ok to use Goof Off to clean cpu core and pcb?

Use nail polish remover or pure acetone. Do not use anything that has any type of oil products in it (i.e., WD-40...etc).

New notebook, won't let me go to a higher resolution

That seems like as high as it will go for a notebook, remember LCDs have a native resolution that they can not go above and that they look the best at, it is not like a CRT where you can keep bumping it up to a point. My 19" LCD only goes to 1280x1024 max...the price we pay for eye comfort!

What could be causing whacky video gamma?

Do you have the newest Nvidia drivers (77.72) for the 6800? You have to restore the factory defaults to correct the gamma issue. Personally I just am using the previous revision of their drivers (71.89) as a result of artifacts and weird graphics problems in some of my games.

Shadowing on my CRT just started....

K this is a total shot in the dark but have you put anything like unshielded speake(s) by your CRT or a cell phone or any thing new? If not try to get everything away from the CRT and try it on another computer...I hope you can find the problem GL.

Because when these new cards come out, what is to say you can't throw these new cards into SLI in an existing SLI rig?...I don't think that Nvidia (and ATI as rumored to soon have their own SLI setup) is just going to throw away all this time and money into R&D just to come out with something...

what psu for a8n-sli deluxe is everyone using?

Running my fine with a Aerocool Aero Power II, and the Thermaltake 20-24 Pin connector. It been working great and looks great with solid rails, however I have not directly measured them directly.

Riddle of the A8N-SLI POST problem solved !

Built my system and befoure posting I moved the EZ-Selector to single, and I pluged my Video card into the 1st slot, but I also pluged in the EZ-Conector just be sure I had stable power, and I pluged in all my USB and Firewire ports. I have not updated my BIOS and it posted and has been running...

Another happy owner. Had to do one RMA but the seckond one here is great and went togeather like greased lightning. I was able to put togeather a RAID 0 configuration with 2 Maxtor Dimondmax 9 80 gb SATA drives...no problems (gota love 10 min Windows instals :), but I dont think tey support NCQ...

Another A8N SLI Issue....system hangs in windows!

So in case anyone sees these same problems as I, I just got my new RMA board and it seems to be working fine with all my memory, HDs, and SB Audigy 2 inslaled. Just a bad board, or I did something I guess. Anyways ty again for all those who helped me :)

So to update! I got my 20 to 24 ATX converter, but befoure I instaled it on a normal reboot, it started trying to load AFLASH from the CD to load up a new BIOS due to a "BIOS Checksum Error", and I thought that is funny.....I did nothing perviously to my system except set my memory...
