I could do that. I don't feel like selling a heatsink though. I guess Ill just get the bracket. I wish it wasnt 11 bucks though. :/ Id think 5 bucks would be fair for what it is....
I bought this mobo/cpu/memory combo from a friend and I want to make sure the CPU checks out before I commit to buying an AM2 bracket for my old Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme cooler heatsink that I am going to put on it.
I just want to make sure the CPU temps look right before I put it on.
Assuming TRUE 120 = Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme I think Ill shell out the 11 bucks if its a better cooler than the $35 cooler.
Best bang for the buck I guess?
Hello,
I can't find a straight answer on what the normal idle temperature and Prime95 100% stress test load temperature of the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T (with stock heatsink and fan with a properly ventilated case.)
I am using the latest version Core Temp (1.0 RC6).
My room temp is 70 degrees...
I'm sorry I don't understand your response. Are you saying the $11 it will take to upgrade my Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme with the bolt through kit to my AM3 motherboard will do better than a new $35 heatsink and cooler today?
I know my Thermalright was one of the best, but that was like 7...
Hrm. Im not comfortable buying a bolt kit that is like 10-20 bucks when I can buy the same cooler with the kit for 30 bucks. Doesn't make much sense!

I guess I am looking for a new cooler to buy then?
Hello,
I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme CPU cooler that I want to take from my other Q6600 rig and plug into my ASUS M4A89TD AM3 motherboard with a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition.
I need to buy a bolt through kit so it fits the AM3 motherboard,
Thing is that this kit is...
Oops sorry. I forgot that price checks were illegal.
Whats the deal with PCI Express 2.0 Vs 3.0 though? Will I see a performance hit using a $200 video card? How about a $500 video card?
Howdy,
So I have a super old gaming system (Q6600 w/ 8GB ram and a 8800 GTS 512MB) and a friend from work is looking to upgrade his system. He wants $150 for all of the below.
He has:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 6-Core 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX...
Hey,
I know this program exists, just don't know what it is called. I heard about it years ago.
This program monitors your boot up process and login process into windows, and gives you a report on how long each process took to run.
I am trying to troubleshoot why it takes me so long to...
I can find a good n cheap qwerty keyboard for 15-20 bucks. Should be the same for dvorak.
I see your point tommylopkins. I will just switchover and start learning.
I spend a lot of time on the keyboard at work and at home. I want to learn the dvorak keyboard layout. I want a good dvorak keyboard.
Yes, I know you can use Windows to change from QWERTY to Dvorak, but I want the actual keys printed with the Dvorak layout.
Yes, I know I can get two dollar...
Okay thanks. I would lap my heatsink and CPU but I dont want to void my warranty.... I am pretty sure the tention is as good as it gets with my HSF. I don't want to strip it out.
I was wondering if my Thermaltake Ultra 120 extreme isnt on my CPU correctly.
After 10 hours of Prime 95 core 0 and 1 are 47 degrees while core 2 and 3 are 42 degrees. Thats a rather big difference......
Is this normal? Should I reseat my CPU heatsink?
Hi, I want to upgrade my BIOS to the latest version. Will this break my RAID configuration? The site says it will reset the saved BIOS info - does that include the RAID configuration?
Thanks.
I have the latest version of Storage Console installed and I can't seem to find the option to integrate the disk into the array. Am I missing something?
Hi, I have the ABIT IP35 pro motherboard that has the Intel RAID Matrix. I currently have two drives configured with raid. A 350GB section of both drives is in RAID 0. And the rest, 150GB, is in RAID 1 for data backup. I am trying to add anther 500GB HDD to the RAID, but it seems like...
Hi. I am throwing a EVGA 9600gt in a computer. Powersupply is a 450watt Thermtake (or Thermalright I forget). It has 18A on the 12+ rail.
CPU is a Socket 939 single core. 2GB RAM. 1, 250 GB HDD.
Good enough? Newegg says min, of a 400 Watt.
Yeah I tried the one that came with my video card (8800gts 512mb) and one that was purchased off of newegg. Both give me a slight text blur at high Freq (85hz) but doesn't do it at 60hz.
Thanks for the replies. But The DVI to VGA adapters can cause ghosting and jittering. The better alternative would DVI to VGA cable (no adapters).
However, if I am going to buy a cable like that I might as well get a DVI to BNC. They do make them, but I am not sure which one I should buy.
Hi. I am looking for a GOOD quality DVI to BNC cable for my Sony FW900. Quality is important but I don't want to buy a $50 cable. I hear the crappy quality DVI to BNC cables cause ghosting and shadowing problems. And the DVI to VGA cables aren't good enough for the high resolutions I will be...
I am looking for a gaming 24" inch LCD also. Ive been looking at that Doublesight DS-245W. I can't seem to find any reviews. I want a good gaming experience and I hope the better color/black levels of this display will be good while keeping gaming possible. I don't want major lag.
Thanks for the reply. I gave her my monitor because im building her a gaming PC and I was hoping to use it as an excuse to buy myself a better monitor.
Thanks for pointing out that sticky.
However, I still don't know what to buy..... I wish LCD performance was more clean cut - like i...
I am giving my girlfriend my current monitor that I got for the black friday deal last year at Best Buy for $200. Its the Westinghouse LCM-22w2.
