Explorer Hates me!

Dump internet exploiter and go with Mozilla or Opera... you will have less problems. I did that for the same reason, but I was running 5.1 on 98 SE.

If I remember the law correctly, you are allowed one backup copy of whatever you own. I did download some stuff that isn't in print anymore, I found a copy on Cassette and had my backup copy on CD.

Best Overall PC Laptop: build quality + good for gaming

I had a Sony Viao... those babies are built like Tanks. I played turn based games mostly. (Masters of Orion, Civ2) If you didn't go with the Sony, then the IBM is a good 2nd choice. My current LT is an IBM and I am happy with it.

Replacing Hard Drive Problem

A lot of the older computers have a hard time recognizing bigger hard drives. (10gig doesn't seem so big anymore) I had a P100 that wouldn't take my 6.8 gig no matter what I did. I never tried flashing the BIOS though, but some of the older systems don't have flashable BIOS. Check your MB to...

Mad Dog external USB floppy drive

The directions say to put in the CD and then to plug in the drive... then to install the drivers. Yeah that is the drive. The drive is supposed to be backward compatable and I did contact Mad Dog, they say I need to call them. Call them and pay big $$$ to talk to a guy who is going to tell...

Best Case

I have one by AOpen... it is fairly well built and decent enough to work with. Much better than the Dell my friend has. (I hate opening it up to work on it for him) It is just a stock steel case, but at least it has side pannels that remove rather than the whole cover. I can live with out...

Q-Stor USB Cardbus opinions

Mad Dog external USB floppy drive

I have made several attempts to install the drivers for my Mad Dog Multimedia USB floppy drive, and every time my computer locks up on me. I have tried this on two of my three computers and neither will work. (my third computer is not set up for USB yet) I can't even do a microsoft salute...

I have an idea for a political TV show!

I'd only watch Nader if it had an old air cooled VW with leaky fuel lines and they were in the frozen north. I'd cry over the VW though... that would be a nasty thing to do to it, leave it with a guy like Nader.

New Computer New Problems

I had the same problem with a friend's Dell. He had Windoze95 installed and I sold him my old 6.8 WD HD, it gave me nothing but problems until I did a complete reformat and installed Windoze98. It took me three weeks to try and upgrade the darn thing and then I had to bring it home and work on...
