GA-965P-DQ6 Power Off issue with Vista

I've got a brand new GA-965P-DQ6 with an E6600 and 2GB of Corsair 5-5-5-15 XMS2 PC26400 memory, nVidia 6600GT running Vista RTM. If I am using the computer, all seems fine. However, if I let it sit idle for a while, it turns itself off (haven't seen it happen, so I don't know if it's a blue...

Gigabyte K8N51PVMT-9

Has anyone seen the new Gigabyte K8N51PVMT-9? It's designed for media center PC's and has integrated HDTV output (via S-Video rather than component out, but oh well) I was just wondering if this can output Standard Definition as well? There's nothing in the specs or press releases anywhere...

Are NF4 and Diamondmax 10 incompatible?

I've had similar problems with my DiamondMax 10 300GB. If I do a soft reboot, it isn't always recognized, but powerdown/powerup it's always fine.

I need mobo reccomendation

All 3000-3500+'s in socket 939 are 90nm. Previous versions were 130nm socket 754, used more power, ran hotter, and were more expensive (smaller die size means a higher yield of processors, and lower cost per processor). Not all 939's are 90nm, but in the price ranger you're looking for they are.

Chaintech VNF4/Ultra Maxtor Diamondmax 10 SATA not detectable/problem

I don't have a chaintech, but I do have a Gigabyte K8NXP, and I had a similar problem. You have to turn off the RAID features (all of them) before the board will detect the drive. On the gigabyte, disabling RAID made it seem like it was disabling the controllers, but it's not. Maybe that's...

Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI - nTune Lockups

I love my K8NXP-SLI, even though I'm not using the SLI feature of it. I'd have got the -9 if there had been any available, but oh well. Speed has been great, and stability awesome, though i'm not overclocking.

Asus Vs. Gigabyte SLi Boards

I got my Gigabyte SLI about 2 weeks ago from mwave. The boards are out there, i'd expect new stock soon. So far, other than some confusing BIOS settings, the Gigabyte has been a great board.

Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI SATA problem

It doesn't really matter if it's a soft reset or a hard reset. I have to completely power down the box for about 5 seconds and reboot, otherwise it just freezes while probing the drive. It may be a problem with the drive itself. I have a nother drive i'm going to try and see.

Nforce4 - Is it worth it?

If you're building a cheap system, no.. nforce4 isn't worth it. The advantages of nforce4 are, dual channed ddr, PCIe, SATAII, gigabit ethernet, and 1000Mhz HyperTransport. None of those things are necessary if performance is not your #1 priority. For that matter, it might even be cheaper...

No, you can elect not to clear the disk when you create the array. However, you will probably have to reinstall Windows, since you'll need to go through the F6 load drivers part of setup.

Why does anyone care about NCQ support?

Another area where I see NCQ being important is when burning CD's or DVD's. I know that buffer underrun protection prevents a coaster from being made, but I don't like having it engaged because it creates a very subtle gap in the track. NCQ will help prevent a buffer underrun when you start up...

Well, I finally got it working. I took Barkeley's advice and re-examined setting up a single disk array. I can't set up a single disk striping or mirroring, but I can set up a single disk JBOD, which is what I did. Once I had set up a single disk JBOD, I could set the array as bootable, and...

Thanks for the advice, however I've already tried disabling the RAID function, and as I said in my original message, I've tried both the native nVidia and SII ports, no luck. Barkeley, you can't create a RAID azrray with one drive, it needs at least 2, and the chipset fan is fine.
