So how does this work?

No game out there should kill my video card like this IMO. Sure there are better card out there like the 7800gt but still the x800xl is a fairly new card and "should" be able to play any game, at this time, without this many problems. But yeah I agree with you that if the 7800gt has problems...

Overclocking a p4 2.4...question about temps.

Now I have to tell ya, my Abit mother board has a habit showing higher temps than they really are but anyway...it's a known problem with my model from what I understand. Anyway my cpu idles at about 44-45c and at about 52c when playing games...according to PCWIZARD. I have a Zalman heatsink...

P4 2.4 badly bottleneck my X800XL?

P4 2.4C...Northwood I think. Like I said my bios are a little off. They read higher than they should. 5 to10 higher than it really is.

P4 2.4 badly bottleneck my X800XL?

Curious what you guys think. I'm gonna try and OC my cpu but who knows how that will end up. Curious if this cpu will be enough to play newer games for a good 1 1/2 years or so.

Anyone have a Abit IS7 series MB with a 6800gt? Before I send this 6800gt back....

Well I got the card last week. Uninstalled the 9800 drivers and used a driver cleaner then installed the 6800gt. I tested the card by running the two 3DMark programs then aquamark and my scores were really bad. 3Dmark05 was even worse than with the 9800 pro. Then I ran a couple games and got...

Anyone have a Abit IS7 series MB with a 6800gt? Before I send this 6800gt back....

I have a IS7-E and have not been able to get this 6800gt to works at all. This guy on new egg was saying that the card was just not compatible with his motherboard IS7 Abit. So before I send this card back for another I would like to see if anyone has been able to get it to work on a IS7...

Oh man..please help me out.

After looking at the power wires, it looks like the power to the gpu and hard drive are coming off of the same set of wires. So I guess this just might be the problem after all. It looks like the power goes to the hard drive first then powers two case fans then finally the videocard. So this...

Thanks guys. If it doesn't have a dedicated line for the card then I will try it again with one. If it does I'll be sending it back to newegg. They will take it back right? And yeah, if I had hair I would have pulled it out.

It's a 480w Ernmax or some crap like that. The card is made by Albabtron. I read a lot of really good reviews on the card so I don't know.

No, no guys. It does have power to it. I used the same plug my 9800 nonpro was using. However all the wires are bundled together so I don't know if it is running a single wire straight from the psu to the card or if it's sharing power with the HD and whatever else.

Someone else told me this: When you installed the card did you install the needed additional power connector? and if you did is it only powering the card or is it connectd to another device as well. My father recently installed a 6600gt and forgot the xtra power and it auto clocked his card...

350w PSU enough for this pc?

I'm asking because I have this case and it comes with a 350w. HERE! And this is my pc P4 2.4c GHZ, ABIT IS7-E, 1GB PC 3200, 6800gt. I plan on overclocking my cpu after I move everything in this new case and buy some extra cooling. So is 350 enough for that even with overclocking...
