:D Ok I got it updated to vf11. I used the @Bios utility that was on my cd that came with the motherboard instead of downloading it off the net. It still had to download the vf11 but at least it worked.
Something pretty simple that wasted a day to figure out.
I am trying to update my bios on a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI from version f6 to vf11 to prepare my system for the 4200 x2 cpu I am going to put in it .
I have tried using the @Bios utility and everytime it hangs at 87% and gives me a Bios write error. I have my old bios backed up and it...
I am about to replace my 6600gt graphics card with either a 8600gt or 8800gts. I am not sure if the power supply I have is good enough for these. The xfx 8800gts requires a minimum 450 watt psu with at least 30amp total on 12v rails. Also I am not sure what power connection I need for the card...
Thanks Blazer. I noticed on the Gigabyte website they have a utility called @Bios that will automatically update your bios to the correct one. Have you ever tried this? If I update before I install the new cpu then should I update after the installation as well since the cpu has been changed?
I am upgrading my older cpu from a amd 64 3200 to a amd 64 x2 4200 socket 939 . I am a little confused about how I should go about updating my bios if I have to. I am currently running f5 bios and I believe I need to update to f9. Do I install the new cpu first or do I update before I install...
My HD is showing up on IDE Chanel 2 Master in the Standard CMOS. I also have all RAID Functions disabled. When installing windows I hit F6 to install Sata drivers. The manual says select MENU.EXE from the motherboard cd and choose which driver you need to copy on floppy. I did try nVIDIA series...
I got one sata hard drive connected to S_ATA_SB (2nd one from the top). What drivers do I need to install that are on the cd? I have tried a couple and no luck....Thanks
What sata drivers do I use for my hard drive on windows xp. I am assuming they are on the motherboard CD but I am not sure what to copy over to floppy.
Nevermind problem solved.
I guess the GIGABYTE K8nXP-SLI must be far superior than the ASUS because I sure havent read many bad things about it on the forum. TALK ABOUT A RETARD!
I ordered this board from MWAVE on sunday night for $189 and it arrived yesterday. I hope to have it all put together this weekend.
Total was $204 with shipping.
Sorry to hear about your problem. I ordered a 3200 90nm from them last week also but it arrived in excellent condition. I would not take a chance and send it back. That chip you got (3500DIK4BI) is the 90nm winchester core. Good luck!
I just ordered the Gigabyte board on MWAVE sun night for $200. Now its back up to $229. Finally something working out in my favor. Hopefully its more stable than the Asus sli board.
As far as I can tell it is retail. I havent seen many posts on this board so I assume there must be very little issues with it unlike the Asus. Unless not many peps have the Giagaybte board. What ram would you all recommend under $200? I am putting a winchester 3200+ in it and would like to...
Thanks guys. The Gigabyte looks tempting. ZZF has it for $219 now. Right now I have a MSI 6600gt and I plan to SLI down the road but will it work in a Gigabyte board? ( I would think so). 2 pci slots is not much since I have a pci modem and soundblaster audigy 2 zs card that would max out the...
Hello, I am almost ready to build my pc except that the MSI K8N SLI motherboard is nowhere to be found. Seems like every week it keeps getting delayed. I am getting tired of waiting and have been looking at the Gigabyte board which is available now. Can you guys give me some advantages and...
