XP-90 v XP-90C

My Winchester's stock cooling was very poor, maybe because I played around with it in the beginning and didn't use the thermal pad/grease they provided. Now I have the XP-90 with As5 and it just rocks. Silent system, never goes above 50C, with 600Mhz overclock... Get it now!!

Need input on Thermaltake case

I don't have the case but right now I'm thinking I shouldve bought it. Yes it looks awesome and it has a nice layout. The only turnoffs I see is that I heard the 120mm fans are a bit loud unless on the lowest speed, and the 3.5" bay is all the way at the top if you're gonna be using a floppy...

xp-90 with high performance fan

Get the Panaflo, if its too loud for you hook it up to your mobo 3-pin connector and use Speed Fan to lower the RPM of the fan.

Thermaltake or Panaflo?

Oooh, very nice price for that Panaflo, I hope the shipping is cheap too. Btw, I have a $2 Sanyo Denki fan right now with my XP-90, its pretty sturdy but bit loud on the max RPM, hoping this Panaflo is quieter? http://www.pctoys.com/840556000174.html I also had to do some good old saw'ing...

It can "support" any speeds... Rule of thumb; Faster = Better = Louder

Not really... More RPM = More noise. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-999-613&depa=0 - Fastest fan out there. But sounds like a hair-dryer. Panaflo fans seem to be the king in 92mm. I don't have one but I heard nothing but good stuff...

Thermaltake or Panaflo?

Is this fan really that good? http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-silent-cat-92mm-fan.html 21 dBa and 52CFM looks too good to be true, anyone has this fan? How quiet is it? Push a lot of air? And, Will it fit my XP-90, its 90mm not 92mm :confused: Would you recommend this or the Panaflo 92mm?

Safe to use Isopropyl on GPU?

Well I did it today, and I gotta say, this VF700 is awesome! My temps underload went from 65C to 52C max. The RAM-Sinks didn't fit though on the 6600GT AGP, they touched the cooler itself. But my slot-fan card should do the trick of cooling everything... A+ for Zalman!

NV Silencer 5 vs Zalman VF700

I'm getting a Zalman AlCu version tomorrow hopefully, for my 6600GT. I heard nothing but good things about Zalman recently...

Safe to use Isopropyl on GPU?

Well I used the 70% on my CPU core and it seems to be fine, I'm just suspecting GPUs are different from CPU cores...

Safe to use Isopropyl on GPU?

I will be changing the heatsink on my 6600GT AGP tomorrow, and I want to know if using 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol is safe on the GPU? Will it damage anything if it gets on any of the other components? I'll be replacing the heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 + a Zalman VF-700 cooler.

Does the 3000 Winchester only come as a 939?

Yep, only 939. The 754 ones are Newcastle.

Temps

Did you try re-installing the heatsink? And/or re-applying the thermal paste. Maybe you forgot to clamp the heatsink down like I did. If it doesnt go above 60C you should be fine, but IMO I dont like my cpu running that hot, thats why I got a XP 90 and now I OCd 600Mhz and 45C Load :)

Winchester 3000+ OC results

I have almost the same setup as you hehe. AMD 3000+ Winchester MSI Neo2 Platinum 1 Gb Corsair XMS PC 3200 XFX 6600GT agp I will try overclocking it past 2.4ghz, It has been just randomly rebooting in the middle of a high-load program. I tihnk my ram is running too high I dont have it set...

Thermalright XP-90 and A8N-SLI Deluxe

I should be getting my XP-90 tommorow, what fan did you use? And whats thing thing about the heatpipes? Mine will be on the bottom on the AGP/PCI side, and the end that sticks out will be facing up.

XFX 6600GT Running Too Hot?

I say its fine. I also have the XFX one with the silver heatsink, I have a vantec slot card next to it running on low and it never goes above 60C during gaming (checked with rivatuner). Idle's at around 45C. I might try taking the heatsink off and applying AS5 later but I want to learn how to do...

6600 GT

I have the XFX card and it failed on me after a couple days. I RMA'd it to ZipZoomFly and they sent me a new one with a different heatsink, i think this is the style they make all their cards with now. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...jsp?ProductCode=321018 I have a vantec slot card near mine...
