I'm fairly certain that you can put peanut butter in a PCI slot and connect your monitor to it and it would be better then that integrated chipset. Chunky requires more cooling though.
Seriously, buy it. :) For $30 your going to get a decent upgrade.
The 84.21's are working for me, video wise. Unfortunately there's still some artifacts (black pixels at certain placeson the screen, over icons and certain graphics...). Also, I'm just having some IRQ issues with my board that's frustrating as heck. (Gotta love PCI2 and 5 sharing an IRQ, but...
Hrm. Hard decision. I can't seem to find any info on it, but does anyone know about IRQ sharing on this board? The older board I'm using has some serious conflict issues with my cards, and even though the audio card and network card would be out, I'd still need the PVR150 and the PCI video...

I think the big issue that people have with this is that it's technically a 'downgrade' from the earlier versions in regard to memory - and if your using alternate firmwares that comes into play a bit.
From what I've seen, the GL/v4 versions are around $60 around, so people will want to keep...
Well, I figured out the problem. One of the two sticks of memory is bad. Of course, this was also one of the things I got from ZipZoomFly. I'm PRAYING they let me return the one DIMM and keep the other and have them send out one new one so I can keep the PC running. That or cross ship...

That could be it. Resulted in an increase of over a 1000 in memory tests in Sandra. I think the issues were arising before this however...I'll test it out tonight.

The setup is 1 side case fan, 2 fronts and 2 backs. The side and fronts are each on a rheostat bay bus dial, and the two backare as well. Once I see what the temps are normally, I'm going to turn down everything and see what I can get away with. I was figuring the two backs running slower...
I just put together my new system and I'm a bit baffled by why my PSU isn't holding up well. I'm basically getting program errors every once and awhile (programs crashing in XP, but not bluescreening) and I was trying to figure it out and then I noticed that my +12V is staying at a steady...
Ordered at 2pm EST, and the mb and vid card were shipped by the end of the day. I got it two days after I ordered it. (Yesterday). ZZF got me the proc/memory but took 3 days. ZZF has a longer initial send out time it seems.
Overall, I was REALLY impressed with Monarch. I'm not sure yet...

Man...ah well. I got a good board for a good price. See how it goes. Worst comes to worst, I can just get a new MB but I dont think that's going to be needed. Won't be much of a benefit in the short term anyway.
My GeForce2 GTS (still using) and the Abit BX133 (still using). Of course, I will be replacing the entire system by the end of this week (come on FedEx)...but considering both are 4+ years old, I think I got a good run out of the system. (And yeah, it still plays most stuff...surprisingly).
From what I read, they always did this. The thing is, previous to the story being 'broken' on a few hardware sites it was never explicitly stated not to base buying decisions on the reviews. They added in the review disclaimer and that was the end of it. So...unless something has a 4-5...
I JUST got the gigabyte board yesterday. And Monarch shipped it like 4 horus after I ordered it (fast little buggers...amazed me. Now ZipZoomFly's gotta send the proc and the ram). Kind of annoyed now...I was eyeing up this board for a bit until I finally just ordered the Gigabyte one.
