so to be clear.. you said your last 3 gpu's have suffered from stuttering? And you've rebuilt /reloaded windows each time? If that's the case, I would question the slot on the motherboard.. If you have another slot try using that first... Then I would question the power supply... maybe...

In the market for surround speakers

those rears on the Pioneer system don't appear to be much smaller than your Bose 201's.. so similar mounting issues/considerations would exist.... Honestly.. most of the folks that weigh in on this stuff are usually more critical than the avg consumer, as we tend to be a bit more passionate...

another thought.... I'd swing the 201's over, if they're not took bulky, and use them as your two surround channels. That'll allow you to maximize your limited budget on the front LCR soundstage, along with a sub.. and not throw money away on the surrounds... as suggested.. take a look at...

New SSD / Windows freezes after idle

1) are you still using a dual monitor setup.. or does the problem also occur when configured to use a single monitor? 2) How long is the HDMI cable running to your monitor?.... Can/Have you tried another cable ? HDMI's are more suseptible to problems carrying signals, etc.. so may be worth a try.

Should I be concerned about this odd error?

look at it this way... if you can flash your BIOS from within windows, which we know you can, then it makes sense that virus can also access and attack your bios in the same way..

Random BSOD when playing games

if you're hitting a certain temp (e.g. 75c)..then it doesn't really matter what settings are doing it. .it's something to address.. Is that temp really high enough to cause an issue? who knows, probably not, but its close enough to investigate given all the other things you've tried and ruled...

if you've gone through several batteries, and they always fail shortly after putting them in... and assuming they are the correct type of battery, then i would think one of 2 things to be the problem 1) motherboard circuitry at fault... how old in the board? do you see signs of age (bulging...

Random BSOD when playing games

some of those Palit cards are know to have issues with heat.. but I don't recall the thresholds.. GIven you max at around 75 during stress, it's probably ok.. but I would be inclined to rule it out by pulling the card, cleaning up the fan and heatsink and reapplying some thermal paste...

Computer locks up with black screen

PSU would be a good place to start... Can you swap another one in from another pc to verify? If you're plugged into a UPS, try bypassing to rule that out... Check the EVENT VIEWER to see if there are any error messages associated with the system going blank...

Strangest computer issue I have experienced

does sound like it could be a drive issue.. though I wouldn't rule out a problem with the psu or motherboard... can you swap in another psu to rule that out?

Southbridge Overheating? Bad motherboard? PSU? (MSI P6N-FI nForce 650i)

do you have a psu you can try from another computer? Sounds like its definitely a PSU or MOBO issue.. most likely a bad atx 12v regulator on the board.. but it would be nice to confirm with another psu

How did you reinstall driver? try this.. 1) plug in the device not being recognized 2) go into Device Manager and go to the USB/universal serial bus controllers section 3) see if it lists the storage device that you have connected to your PC.... if so, then uninstall the device using...

Crucial M4 vs Intel 330

really a coin flip... between M4, 330 and 830 based on research i did.. Just be sure to get latest firmware.. I opted for the 330 on both mine (180 GB ) and my wifes setup.. Intel SSD toolbox is great.. One Note: there have been some reported compatibility issues with runnin INtel...

you don't mention any specs/components/brands of your system... there were issues with the crucial M4 SSD drives that caused lockups/bsods every hour or so, once the drive hit a certain number of hours usage... they had a firmware update to address...

based on what you've already tried, it does sound like a possible motherboard compatability issue with that card..... I would think a bios reflash is your best bet.. but it sounds like you've already tried that.... You sure you tried the latest bios update? try pulling the cmos battery...

If your getting BSOD's daily... relating to ram up until this problem occurred.. then there's a good chance the issue relates to the RAM or ram settings in bios... Double check the sticker on the ram to see what the recommended voltages are for those sticks... and go into bios and hardcode/set...

it could be a power or heat issue... Try running the PC on a different circuit in the house... to see if that helps... and if you're using a UPS , take that out of the equation.... My suspicion is that the power supply may not be rated high enough for the setup... That psu is only 350w...

Having an odd problem

if it's doing a "clean" shutdown, that would imply a software related problem.. like a UPS driven program or task scheduler, as suggested by the other poster... or possibly some malware /virus on your system... I would run a virus scan, and then try something like malwarebytes or spybot to see...

did you disconnect ac cord prior to trying reset ? if not, that could damage components... try pulling battery, and posting without the battery in it.. also pull batter and ac cord and use jumper.. and leave like that for an hours or so.. then retry

you tried using the jumper pin to reset, pulling battery, etc.? if so, and nothing happened.. there is a possibility of a short between the board and the case.. try pulling the board from the case, and then resetting using the jumper pin, etc...

Getting a little fed up with my system...

1)Are you running the latest firmware for your ssd drive? 2) Can you try the graphics card in another slot? 3) what power supply are you using? 4) try running memtest against your memory to rule out issues there.. 5) doublecheck your bios settings to ensure the memory voltage and timings...

did you try taking the router out of the equation? plugging ethernet from your cable modem directly into ethernet port on your pc?

basically overclocking refers to running a CPU processor at faster than stock/default values... many CPU's today are conservatively spec'ed.(particularly the K series), so there is usually some headroom to improved performance with some bios tweaks (e.g. voltage and frequency settings)...

Ssd stuck in "starting windows"

now that you can see the SSD drive.. run some diagnostics on it.. and make sure you have the latest firmware for it... you may want to try pulling some of the ram .. so it's just running with one stick .. to see if that gets past the problem.. Sometimes windows is finicky that way.. don't...

Let's rewind ....if you tried swapping a HDD from a friends PC, and still have the same issue...then it would have to be hardware or bios related....most likely weak power supply, bad motherboard, or ram issue... try swapping in your friends battery as well, to see if that helps....if not...

Looks like a ram or HDD issue..... How many passes did u run the mem test? It needs to run through several passes to be considered OK....also make sure u r running with correct voltage and timings for the new sticks in bios....some motherboards default to incorrect dram voltage settings for...

assuming all CD/DVD and HDD connections into the board are good .. i would then try to confirm 1) the DVD/CD is operating properly, by inserting the motherboard boot disk in, to see if it can read that ok... if so, then your windows install disk could be defective.. You can try it in...
