I really hope HP is gonna have a big inventory whenever they do go live again, and they limit to 2-5 per order. I'm so stressed out watching the HP page, SD page, and this forum I'm gonna freak out...lol

I pray that you are right. I was on the mailing list to be notified when stock returns and never got an email, so maybe (fingers crossed). Damn near broke my heart when I woke up and saw out of stock rather than coming soon.

Missing File Names in My Pictures Folder

For some reason when in thumbnail view, none of the folders or files display names when in the thumbnail view. I am able to create a new folder inside my pictures, move everything into it, and then all the names appear. I have been living with it for months now, and cannot find any...

Good to know check. Well, I let it loop for the full 50 and it didn't freeze. So then I played some doom 3 for about 30 min and still no freeze. Although I'm not convinced it will be perfect, at least it has been pretty stable for alot of testing today. I'll probebly look into a better...

In response to it being a heat issue, I removed the HSF, cleaned it, and applied a thin layer of arctic silver because the other stuff was pretty much gone. It reattached snugly on the card. Now it am starting a 50x loop of doom 3 to see what happens. It should take about 50 minutes and I'll...

6600GT Freezing

Any ideas on why it would be able to loop the Doom 3 demo 19 times, but then lock up the 20th time? That is really what is giving me such a headache. I wish it would consistently lock up on the 1st loop, it would be much easier to narrow down/fix the issue. Since the time it locked up earlier...

6600GT Freezing

I've got an Antec True 430. Its only about 4 months old. I don't really know how to test its quality but the system seems really stable when I'm not in games. I've left the system on overnight several times to find it still functioning properly the next day.

The 15" monitor has been unplugged for the testing. Also, this is a AGP card running stock speeds of 500core 900mem. Mine goes from 44C idle to 79C (max) in games, what kind of temps do you see?

Ok, a little more info on the temps i'm getting. On the last run of doom 3 benchmarking (with the side panel on) I used riva tuner to monitor the temps. It is hitting a max of 79C every time it runs through the timedemo. It froze on the 19th loop at 79 degrees. I would think if it was a...

After case change, computer does a failed start

I would definitly note down what numbers are being displayed on the motherboard LED and then look them up in the manual that came with the mobo, or online. This is very similar a problem I ran into, and replacing the mobo resolved it.

why do i only show 148ish gigs free on my 160GB slave HD?

130GB was the limit for Windows XP when it was released in October 2001. You will need to update to servicepack 2 before it can access anything bigger. If you already have SP2, you might try using the utilities CD that came with the Drive to verify it's size.

NIC problems

I'd check device manager (right click my computer>>properties>>hardware>>device manager) and see if anything has a yellow "!" for an icon. You could also try uninstalling the NIC from device manager and reboot which will cause XP to reinstall the driver. Any chance you just installed a new...

Do you get any beeps from the mobo? If not, your going to have to start swapping hardware to determine the cause. If you get 1 beep (normal) then I would also assume its the vid card.

Ethernet Problems

I would try uninstalling the built in NIC in device manager. Then reboot and go into the BIOS setup and see if you can disable the onboard LAN. After that install your PCI NIC and try to load the drivers again. If that doesn't work, try downloading newer drivers from the manufacturers web...

Windows XP Pro PC suddenly completely jacked.

win98 stuck in safe mode

I would try disconnecting any unnessicary devices (printer, scanner, etc). Basically the only dif between safe mode and normal mode is the lack of device drivers loading. Also you could try going into device manager and see if there are any conflicting devices.
