i understand what you are saying but i now play @ 294FSB 180 Divider (mem @264Mhz) with 2.5-3-3-8 all i am doing is changing the f$@!% divider .. so instead of 264 it will go to 25x or 24x .... that has nothing to do with increasing timings (more to do with decreasing them but i am not...

well i've set my settings at 3-4-4-10 166 divide ron a longshot and system booted .. when in windows benched and then pressed restart .. system did not boot and stuck again at processor initialization forcing me to bios reset setting 3-4-4-10 again and 166 divider does not boot .. again...

i know about HTT.. about tRAS i know it was 10 optimal at nForce3 but I've set it at 8 according to anand's article of nForce4 (DFI). seems 8 is optimal for nForce4. i'm doing benches right now to see low latency vs high bandwidth. mem passes through memtest ok but crashes at S&M @264Mhz...

try S&M for max load temp and great mem checking ... found me some errors even memtest86 and prime didn't ... :) p.s. : this app GREATLY loads cpu .. keep an eye on temps p.s. 2 : with this app and at 2655Mhz my 3000+ has max temp of 47 degress (air)

nop on me divider 166 (which i want) does not work with any mem timings... @ilivemovie : nice :) could you tell me if you just set up these settings and it did work .. or did you have to go up (in the bios) in small increments ? also, does cpu-z recognize 140 divider ? i have 180 and...

i will try when i return home .. right now i am sipping coffee and writing on my pda. BUT i doubt setting these latencies so high (6-6-10) will help. the whole point of dividers is to pump up the fsb while keeping mem relatively down so it can have good latencies... right now i am at 295...

i don't know what to make of it .. maybe a batch of these boards that came with 1.1 have a series of issues .. maybe a new bios from MSI will resolve these... Until then I sit tight at : FSB : 295 Mhz CPU : 2655 (9x) Ram : 265 (180 divider) 2.5-3-3-8 1T HTT : 885 (3x) this is perfectly...

i don't believe i've contradicted myself. I'll grant you that my very first post was premature but it was only because I really care about the dividers 180, 166 and 150 that I hadn't tested the others. I didn't see any reason to test 100 since before I've tried 166 with no success... anyway...

@jeraden, nobody said you did ! :) must be my board .. did your's come with v1.1 also or did you update ? @arswihart, yes it does. after EXTENSIVE TESTING i can report that the working dividers on my board are : 100, 133, 180, 200 ... that's it all others available (120,140,150,166)...

i have the mem in first 2 slots closer to the processor (correct ones).. on my board only 180 works , none other ... all others do not boot with MSI's diagnostic showing "processor initialization" .. guess I have to settle for 296 FSB, 888 HTT, 2664 CPU, 266 Memory (180 divider)...

after extensive testing, I can now confirm that no multiplier except 180 works with my Neo4 Platinum. All others lock up in boot and MSI's diagnostic module shows "Processor Initialization" and just hangs there. do you think I should RMA ?

after further testing : divider 180 works!! .. whatever i put there pc boots. but divider 180 is not recognized either in cpu-z or clockgen .. i have FSB @296 Mhz so mem is @266 with divider 180 but clockgen shows mem at -296. .. cpu-z doesn't show anything divider 166 DOES NOT WORK ...

@arswihart i know it's DDR500 :) no, as i said before either non-logical values (way down) or logical ones (close to official ratings) do not work stably... bummer

@jeraden 1T or 2T ? By testing I saw that using dividers i post about 10% of the times i try with 1T and about 60% with 2T. not that 60% is acceptable ... but it's better... maybe i should return the board ?

@ilikemovie, sounds exactly like me .. maybe the board is at fault ? i don't know what to say. No divider works stably .. either logical or unlogical. @arswihart, if you read carefully you'll see that i mentioned that a rare few times they do work but most times they do not let me post...

no no of the dividers work i was using my mem 1:1 @ 200Mhz (stock) for a day all was well. when I set my FSB @240 and divider 5/6 (so mem would be again @200) no boot... it feels like my board has some problems with dividers

MSI K8N Neo4 Memory Issue Help appreciated.

willy, we have the same board ... do dividers work correctly ? I have my 3000+ at 9x270 with my mem 1:1 but if i set dividers system won't boot.... could you try setting a divider (e.g. 133, 166) and tell me if all is ok ?

none of the dividers are working on my K8N Neo4 Platinum. I have cpu multiplier way low (7) ldt (3) and FSB @240Mhz. If I set the ram (Crucial Ballistix PC4000) at 200Mhz (1:1) all is well. If i set a divider, everything is screwed, no signal on monitor, must reset bios .... anyone else have...

eddie, i am pretty sure my fans are positioned correctly .. i have 2 12cm fans in front one 8cm exhaust on top, the thermaltake silent cat 9 on top of the thermalright xp-90 and another 12cm exhaust on back end. Also a 9cm zalman silent on the side blowing cool air directly on the board and...

i have a neo4 platinum MSI and a a64 3000+ winchester current overclock is 8x337 = 2700Mhz and is stable through prime, superpi, s&m but LOAD TEMP after lots of hammering is 50 celsius. cooled by thermalright xp-90 does anybody know if 50 degress is safe ? should i lower the freq to...

oc kind of a low on msi neo4 platinum

on msi neo4 platinum and winchester 3000+ with 2x512mb crucial ballistix pc4000 i can only get cpu to 9x225 = 2025 with xp-90 heatsink (htt = 4x225) .. isn't it very low ? .. what else could be the culrpit besides cpu ?

Difference in Temps

Could somebody explain this? CoreCenter reports 33 Celsius CPU Temp, 28 Celcius System Temp while nTune same CPU, but 18 Celsius System Temp. It always seems to be 10 degrees lower.. anyone ?

Dell 2405FPW 24" inch on the way----Now available in US! Who is going to buy this new monster?

ordered my 2005FPW on Dec 15 and got it on Jan 10 here in Greece. Very, very nice monitor... but would prefer a 1920x1200 monitor .. guess I'm kinda spoiled with my Latitude D800. Having 1920x1200 there (even at 15,4'') is great!! And it only has a GF4 4200Go. No matter, for games I switch to...

guys, I don't know what's happening over there at U.S. but over here (greece) the situation with MSI's new boards is just terrible! I bought a k8n neo2 platinum on 29/12 which turned out to be faulty (never booted up, fans rotated for 1 second then everything shut down had to remove power...
