DFI Ultra-D Chipset temperature

CPU - according to SmartGuardian(It is on the floor in a basement) Idle 28-29 Load 39-41 I simply used the Stock HSF and thermal pad.

Some info from a DFI rep pretty much the answer right here. 6600GT SLI cards do not have their own power and therefore get the power from the 4-pin molex on the board. 6800GT's and above have their own 12v power requirements that come direct from the psu. ATI cards are the same...

You are correct, no 6 pin on the board. Just be sure to plug in the 24 pin, the 4 pin, the 4 ping molex, and the 4 pin floppy type power connector and all will be fine :D I do not have the answer to how the PCIe gets its power.

Should I wait for the 7 series

If I had a 6600 card, and it dod not do what I wanted, the card I would currently get would be the ATI x800XL. That should be able to hold you over until the next gen cards come out, and prices fall to a decent level. :) Just my 2 cents.

It is not listed on their site, and no word of it at dfi-street.com, s939/AGP does not appear to be made yet by DFI.

OT: Loud pop sound from computer.

GLeeM, any word on your problem? I am curious because Sunday my PC made a loud pop, and shut itself off. I took a look inside, no signs of a bad cap on mobo or video card. I could not smell anything from the PSU or case. I turned it back on, and have played hours of CS:S and prime95...

Camcorder that takes digital pictures?

Buy seperately for sure. The quality of the cheapest digicam will be of better quality than anything a camcorder's built in still cam can do.

6600GT vs X800XL

To Socket 939 or not to....

You are correct, you do not really need a 939 setup. ( I do not think you need a new mobo either(but that is not my choice, hehe)) So, if you really want a good mobo for OC, and stick with the other parts you have, there is one good answer, and that is the DFI Lanparty UT nf3.

Help me decide on an A64 setup!!

Worst case scenario with the system you are planning on is having to buy a better PSU for the Ultra D :) It cannot hurt to try it, but there have been some who have had problems which turned out to be caused by a weak PSU. Be sure to plug all 4 power connectors to the DFI board for stability.

To Socket 939 or not to....

ionoxx, Is your PC slow at anything you currently do? Games not performig the way you want? If that is the case, go with a new video card, x800xl or 6800GT. I would not waste my $$$ on upgrading the CPU/mobo you currently have simply because you cannot OC it. That thing should run great...

Wat is your V. Card's Temp ?

Gigabyte 6600GT IDLE 50-51 Load I have seen it go as high as 70 looping 3dMark2001SE, about 66-68 highest i have seen playing CS:S. Everything stock on it.

Sounds like luck of the draw?

I isolated the board first, just dropped the memory to 100, and the CPU multi to 5. 300x5 booted no problem(I was not loooking for the limit of the board as 300 is more than enough for me) 300x6 booted 300x7 POST but looped back to POST :0 Since my goal was 2.4G with a 3000 I tried 265x9...

I was wondering what pins needed to be bridged too, only reason I am even thinking about it is to my surprise a SLI bridge came with my Gigabyte 6600GT :D

A64 OCs (Air) Poll

A643000 0451 @ 2.25Gig Prime for 13 hours before I stopped it to try some higher clocks. Prime will not run for more than a minute at 260x9 with Vcore at 1.6. I was using HTTx3 and the 100 memory divider to really isolate the RAM while going over 250 :) The board has no troubles going over...

When does your current CPU/GPU become unbearable?

Ah crap, I noticed my RAM for this 11 hour success was at 100 :) More testing to do..... I have gone back to Auto for all except RAM is 2.5-3-3-7 1T and the Vcore is 1.425, will see how it goes.

Anyone go lucky with a recent purchase of Winnie 3000+

Since my goal was 2.4 to 2.5 Gig I tried 266x9 with HTT x3, RAM using divider of 100 with Vdimm 2.8 and Vcore 1.55 and Prime fails immediately. Prime failed 250x9 after 2.5 hours with 4xHTT, RAM 166 Vdim 2.6 Vcore 1.475. However Prime is still going after 11 hours at Vcore 1.50 and 100 RAM...

I tried running Prime 95 Last night at 250x9 1.475V, memory using the 166 Divider and failed after 2.5 hours. I have upped the V to 1.50 in BIOS(1.47 in Smart Guardian reads), temps max at 40C, I left it running at home, will check when after work. I am leaning to a poor CPU. Here is what...

That is the same error I got on my 3000 when I oc it to 2.25Gig within the first 2 minutes of the test. I then upped the CPU voltage from 1.425 to 1.475 and it ran for 30 minutes before I simply turned the test off. I then played 2+ hours of CS:S without a problem. I will try running Prime95...

Worth it to risk DFI-NF4 Ultra-D

I put mine together Saturday night. No problems at all!! Used the 3/10 BIOS, loaded optimized defaults, turned it on and all was good :) I used a 3000 Winchester, 2x512 Corsair Value RAM, Gigabyte 6600GT, Enermax Noisetaker 485W. Be sure to plug all 4 power connectors to the motherboard.

It does not :) Do you have an old PCI card laying around you could use? Who would have know that old ATI 2d vid card from my p133 would ever come in handy for testing!!!! It is still connected to the Monster card via a cable!!! I just cant throw it away :)

Gigabyte 6600GT

Anyone know if this card comes with some sort of software to monitor the temperatures? Just curious, found it for a great price, was leaning towards the Leadtek, but for $30 less, hard to look past this card.
