SSD Purchase advice please.

If you are sticking with 3Gbps SATA then go with the 320. The other two are faster but you would only notice the difference (maybe) if using a 6Gbps controler.

Do I need to fix the allignment on my Intel SSD?

Do I need to fix the allignment on my Intel SSD?

I installed Win XP and all my programs on my Intel SSD today. I ran AS SSD benchmark and it noted my alignment at 31K was "BAD". Do I need to re-align my drive?

Nope, no TRIM support in RAID until updated RAID drivers are released. I believe the RAID controller cannot pass the TRIM command properly to each drive. See page 22 of the Intel Optimizer User Guide. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455

I read that it didn't allow for all of the features of AHCI to work properly if you enabled it after installing. Is that incorrect?

You will lose the ability to TRIM if you put two in RAID. I would go with one 160GB.

What would you like to see in a video card review?

This ^ Would also like to see CoH in game reviews. I ended up going to hexus.net when I recently upgraded my vid card for this reason. Xbitlabs used to have it with min/max but stopped using it :(

Phenom II X4 940 + BIOSTAR TA790GXB (AMD 790GX ATX Motherboard)

It is under "T-series" in the BIOS, under the Manual Overclock section. Got mine up and running today, no problems and so far I've been impressed with the MB.

Need help with a $500 gaming build

Didn't know that combo deal was back...I'd go with that. They both run around 3 Ghz so game performance will be about the same but I doubt you will regret getting a quad core.

I also jumped on this yesterday. I was going to wait for the i5 processors but my old Socket 939 started giving me "System Failed VGA Test" error message. I'm interested to see how the MB performs.

That is the route I went last week. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Going from a 7900GT I paid over $200 for a few years ago to a 4850 for $55...I'm a happy man.

Upgrade from 7900GT to HD4770? Will it play Portal?

I found this thread and have basically the same card with the same types of problems, I get artifacts after playing a game for a few minutes. I didn't realize I could still send my card back for RMA so I just set that up through eVGA. Thanks Spike and bupkus!

4770 reviews thread

Same, waiting for one with a better cooler, Vapor-X version would be nice. Here is a link to the hexus.net review showing it is faster than the 4850 in CoH. The GTS 250/9800GTX+ is faster, as nVidia cards do seem to run that game better but it is also more expensive. Not sure if I can...

Best 4770 price I've found, $90 after MIR. But it is a pre-order. Personally I would get the 4770 over the 4850 due to it performing better in CoH since that is about the only PC game I play, plus less power under load.

Which would give better performance when working with HiDef video files. The HD(s) will be going in a new HTPC. Not worried about the increased failure rate, I will have all the important stuff on my other PC. Thanks

Galvanized I was looking at getting a new PSU and based off of the recommended PSU list, found here, I was considering the Fortron Epsilon FX600-GLN or the FX700. Are you saying there is a better choice in that price range? If so what do you recommend for $120-150. Thanks

Choosing a tuner card

I have the 130 and love it. It is more expensive then other HD tuner cards but I feel the hardware decoding is worth the cost. Are you planning on watching HD channel through your digital cable? If so you will need a card that supports QAM, like the MyHD. As stated in the Anandtech review...
