I am present when it happens. Nothing in the power settings. Here is what the event log says:
The process winlogon.exe has initiated the restart of xxx for the following reason: No title for the reason could be found
Minor reason: 0xff
Shutdown type: reboot
About a week ago, my computer began to shutdown and reboot on its own every day at 11:49 am. I can't figure out why- there is nothing in my scheduled tasks that would do it. Any ideas as to what may be going on?
Long story short: i've got an xp install and a vista rc1 install- I used to dual boot, using vista's bootloader. That became messed up, and I had to reinstall vista rc1. Now there is no boot choice screen- vista just comes up. My xp partition is still there, I can see it in vista. I'd like...
I've purchased a dual core opteron 165 to upgrade my winchester 3000. I'm running an early bios on my a8n-sli, so I'm pretty sure I need to update it. What is a good bios version that will work with my new cpu?
I've got a 939 a643000. I'm going to build a C2D based computer later in the year, as i'll need a 2nd computer. I'm also planning to get vista ultimate for that one (that is for sure; no need to debate that purchase here). I'd like to upgrade the 939 computer so it'll last for a number of...
This doesn't really make sense- anybody can download and install, but only those who signed up earlier can use it for more than 14 days, but they don't tell you that anywhere. So you have people who will not be able to keep using it taking up one of the 100,000 downloads, and people who have a...
I use the NB47J with no problems. My rig used to sound like a small tornado, but after I have replaced the fans and use crystalcpuid, I now can hardly hear it.
You need to take the motherboard out. You've got to get at the plastic thingies on the back. I just ended up breaking them off, as the nb47j comes with its own. It really isn't too difficult. And well worth it- that fan is a nightmare.
I'll answer my own questions. There is a reasonable amount of clearance, though I did not mount it front to back- wasn't worth the trouble. My rig is so quiet and cool as it is, i'll just let the warm air blow into the PSU.
You may be right. I'm now at 2400 peak with no problems. If I go higher, 2500 will be as far as I ever push it. For the 23 hours a day my computer doesn't need the extra juice & cycles, it is nice to bring it down to .990v and 1060.
I am overclocking and using CrystalCPUID (a better version of cool & quiet) with no problems, and was using cool & quiet before I found crystal. That said, I haven't really pushed my OC yet using these programs- i'll get to that this week.
I've just got a s12-430. It has a little power supply connector that you can hook up to three case fans to, and then it will control their speed. It has one 12v and 2 5v connectors. Anyone have any opinions on these? I wonder how well they work- too slow and a hot case, or too fast and a...
I'm considering an arctic cooling freezer 64. I'm just curious if it there is a reasonable amount of clearance around it, and if you are able to mount it with the fan blowing front to back.
I just added the NB47J to my a8n-sli- no problems. Temps are staying about the same. I actually bought this thing last week, before I had any problems with the fan. Then my fan began dying a slow death. I guess it knew the game was up when I bought the NB47J.
According to asus pc probe, my 12v voltage is currently 11.776- and sometimes it goes lower. Does this matter, or is this going to cause me problems? What voltage should I be seeing?
So i've been doing fine with my setup for the last couple of months. Then tonight, I was moving some cables around in my rig for airflow- the computer was on. When I looked up, it said windows boot failure. Somehow it had rebooted while I was messing around with it.
I've got 3 IDE...
So taking off the grill alone won't make that much difference? I've got several hd's in the bay; I don't think i'm going to do the suspension trick.
Does the grill have to be cut off?
I've got the rig listed below- I might add another 6600 gt at some point. Will the seasonic s12-430 be enough for me, or should I get the 500 for another 50 bucks?
What features, if any, does the 500 have that the 430 lacks?
So it would seem that is only an issue with good ram- I have corsair vs, which can't do over 220 anyway. I have no problems overclocking to 2.5........
I've got a 3000 with the corsair value ram at 2.53 right now. I upped the voltages on the cpu and ram- probably more than I needed to. I'm at 1.568 vcore. I haven't reached the limits yet- i've been at this oc for a week; soon I'll try to move it up to 2.6.
