2*4GB kits or 1*8GB kit

So I'm upgrading to a P55 setup, and I'm a little worried on the memory front.. Now I'm not going to overclock it manually, but will probably try to check out what my board can do for me automatically ofcourse.. So I suppose I should get memory with a little overhead.. I was thinking PC3-12800...

I had checked out the Rogue, and it looks very nice. But according to the homepage it only fits up to 10,5 inch graphics.. I'll check out the Coolermaster one, thanks

So here's the deal.. I need case recommendations.. The specifics are: Must hold full size PSU (160mm plus modular cables) Must hold a 11,6 (12inch) graphics card in the first slot. It's 4870x2 w. AC 4870x2 extreme cooler.. Will be mounted with a mATX mobo with a low profile cooler...

Shrinking my pc

Just read anandtechs Lynnfield article, and I think that the i7 860 might just be the upgrade I want.. I'm changing to Win7 as soon as it's out.. I can reuse my Corsair DDR3-1333 modules (4*2gb) Which motherboard to go for though? The nicest one so far looks to be the Asus Maximus III...

Network bridge troubles

Sounds to me like you don't have a proper internet router, but rather some sort of modem only.. The reason it stops working is probably because your ISP only allows you to have 1 ip assigned, but only checks it like every 30 mins or so.. Please tell us if you have a real router setup, and how...

Xbox 360 and ICS question...

If I understand it right, then your media pc is setup as a bridge both before and now.. Bridging is the way to do a setup like that, unless you want some sort of security layer between the xbox and the rest of your lan..

I see how it can sound confusing, but it's specifically the height of the tower I can't accomodate right now. It has to be about 15cm's lower than my current case (CM690), so I simply decided to go the uATX route instead..

Most slick mousepad

Would teflon help on cloth?? I had no idea :-) Well, I'm open for suggestions.. I have already looked at the Steelpad QcK which is a cloth pad, but I haven't found a place to test it out yet..

My 1100-1500$ rig

I would definately go with a 3500+ Winchester cpu.. I'm not usually an overclocker, but mine overclocked too easy up to 3800+ specs for me to not do it :-) (On a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI board).. 2*1 GB is the way to go if you know for damn sure you'll swap that much data in memory...

Sounds like my experience with my new build First make sure you have a 400W or more PSU with that NF4 board. My board had both the 4 pin molex power connection and a small square one also.. Both had to be connected.. It was my first build in a while, so I hadn't seen the two extra needed...

AMD 939 setup - comments?

As said before, don't pick DFI unless you want to oc.. It's "tricky" hardware, but reeeeaally nice if you know what you're doing.. DFI is not for the plug-and-play minded :-) I have a NorthQ 500W silent PSU.. If you can find it it gets my warmest recommendations! It's cheaper than the Antec...

Dual gigeth mobo's is to easily setup dedicated firewalls Actually you CAN get a 2Gig LAN uplink with those 2, but you'll need a mighty expensive pro-switch to do it, and the gain is really not that great unless you transfer close to terabytes of data over say 4 bundled links..

Can't get hub to work under router

Yes you are indeed making a noobie fault :-) Don't connect it to the uplink port as that is used for inter-switch connections.. Although it would work if you used a crossed over cable.. Just plug your normal ethernet cable into one of the switchports and off you go..

As said, the OCZ performance is really good value at my dealer.. It's not more than around 15$ more than the Corsair value pack.. 15$ to go from value to performance ram is worth it :-) I might just go with the NEC because of the reviews, I'm just a sucker for "matching" hardware :-D 20...
