Well it turns out either my motherboard or CPU died, so I will be upgrading those 2 components. Right now I have: AMD 64 3000+ S939 nForce 4 Ultra mobo 6600GT PCI-E Corsair XMS with the lights, so cool. PC3200 I think? 450W PSU My question is what is the best CPU/Mobo combo? I...

Diagnostics Test: CPU or Motherboard?

I edited my post, I have a spare PSU, I am using a 450W Rosewill PSU from newegg and have a spare 350W that came with my case that works fine as well, which I will test tomorrow.

thanks for the tips everyone, thankfully I have a spare PSU so I will test that, I will also see if the HDD is working (didn't pay any attention to it). If nothing happens I'll buy a new mobo then.

Looking to make my PC Quiet -- Should I get Water Cooling?

Okay thanks guys! I'm going to buy the Aspire Fan Master fan controller (liked that one because of the display and same company as case / hopefully same paint). If I still need less sound I'll take out some fans or try and find some that are more quiet. Thanks again guys!

Would you suggest getting different fans, or do you think the noise level should go down a lot if I use a fan controller? Right now the 2 80's run at 30.71dBa and the 120mm runs at 35.48 dBA Thanks for the help!

Chaintech VNF4 - performance / power supply

I e-mail Chaintech and they said you don't need a 24 pin adapter, as long as you have the 4pin plugged in. I need a pci-e card to get my computer up, but I just bought a $33 Rosewill 450w PSU from newegg with 22A on the +12v rail.
