Msi Neo2 - Bad bios flash?

Sounds like theres a setting it doesn't like. Remove the cmos battery for a few mins, and when you power back it, the cmos will have defaulted, should boot ok then. Avoid changing too many settings at once as it may prove difficult to pin the cause down otherwise.

DOA ASRock motherboard?

Try it out of its case on some insulated material, you only need motherboard, 1 stick of mem, cp, fan and graphics card. Normally problems are the standoffs on the case shorting out the motherboard due to incorrect positioning.

Windows 200 ontop of 98. boot up annoying

As a matter of interest, it would have been easier to wipe the whole drive and install from scratch unless there was something of value you needed, systems with a clean install always seem to work better than upgrades.

Problem free nforce4?

I voted no, the hardware firewall is an absolute nightmare to setup and use on the A8N-SLI, it hogs resources like no-ones business, and you have to program individual ports rather than whole programs.. I eventually reverted back to trusty Macaffee :o

SP2 messing with LAN connection - no receive

Doesn't explain why removing SP2 makes it work, it uses the same driver.

NEITHER of two PC's I upgraded shut down now!

Goto run and type msconfig, it will let you deselect/select programs from the startup list, my advice is deselect all, reboot, and see if it cures it, if it does, turn them back on 1 or 2 at a time. If it doesn't do you have any yellow triangles or red circles in device manager?

SP2 messing with LAN connection - no receive

OK heres my problem, i have 2 computers going via a router, from the computer that isn't sp2, i have no problems. From the one i upgraded to sp2, i cannot receive any packets at all. I can ping the computer itself but cannot ping the gateway or beyond. I tried installing the sp2 fix kb884020...

A8N-SLI Bios

According to asus website this is still at version 1001, whereas the delux version is at 1003. My question is this, are the fixes in the delux version just for the delux or are they for the std pcb as well, as some fixes may also apply to the std motherboard such as AMD64 ident etc?

A8N-SLI, bundled software, and firewall question...

I found whilst doing nothing in particular i was accessing the internet all the time, looking at services i found loads i didn't load myself, things like server and workstation. It appears the hardware firewall programs loads all these, and as a result significantly slowed my machine down...
