Laptop issues, really weird

Try and run HDTach and see what you find. Something like this happened to me before and I found that the HD somehow had been set to PIO mode instead of DMA.

Mac-formatted drive in a PC

Does anyone know what would happen if you connect a Mac-formatted drive in a PC running WinXP Pro? Will XP even see the drive and be able to reformat it? Or would you need to do something else? Thanks

Problem with my Lite-On LTR-52327S

There is no disk inside and I am using XP, with Nero installed. I think the drive is dead. I've opened it using a paper clip and it doesn't read the disk. Actually it doesn't even spin up. Guess its time to get a new burner.

Ok here's what's going on. When I power up, it goes to the the splash screen, green bars move for a few seconds, screen goes black for a second or two, then reboots. According to MS, this is symptomatic of a missing or damaged Kernel32.dll file. I replaced the file but it still doing the same...

Hey PliotronX, thanks I think that link might help. I had forgotten that I had used Speed Disk right before. Didn't even think that might have anything to do with what happened. I'll try out and see if it helps. If it doesn't I'll just back-up and reformat and reinstall. Thanks for all the help...
