My BFG 6800 Ultra OC overclocks to 450/1200 with no problems. Can this BIOS upgrade do any better ? I can see tighter timings improve benchmarks but what can it do for me as far as gaming performance ?
It all depends what games you play the most. ATI is the choice for DirectX based games and NVidia is the choice for OpenGL. So as far as HL2 the ATI is the obvious choice. I would still look at what else you play to make a decision both cards play HL2 well.

The reason I ask about 250 FSB is because I already own a set of 1 Gig Dual Channel Kingston HyperX PC4000 (500MHz) ram chips that I currently use on my P4 2.6@3.2 setup. I plan to dump the P4 and run AMD because I hear its better for gaming.
