We were taking apart a hp laptop at work and found this close to the touchpad not really secured to anything.

I am not sure if it belongs there or not. Model of laptop to follow.
ibm thinkpad t41 type: 2379
It does behave in ways like a particle doesnt it:) but thats not all it is. I am amazed by how many people there are who think radiation isnt something we all arent constantly exposed to...
I might be recalling this incorrectly but I think 50 bananas is about the same REM as a typical x-ray...
I work with Solidworks and large assemblies of sometimes upto 2k individual parts. I can say that the workstation at work applies features and renders a little faster than the system in my sig, but not enough to justify the xeon and the quadro , thats just one mans opinion though.
Jack,
I have always made my decisiions after weighing out the facts. This is why I have the system in my signature. I am a bit of an AMD fanboy (i hate the term) but it is my way of expressing that I have an irrational bias towards them. I do appreciate your opinion... after all I solicited it.
heyheybooboo,
That is an area I am not going to look into. The CAD modeling cards seem to be the priciest out there and the mark ups do seem exorbitant, and it is tempting, however Im going to keep my integrity and leave it upto the graphics card makers to keep (or establish) theirs...
Thanks Batuchka!
I am somewhat of an AMD fanboy so that is rather tempting, I could go AMD and have a quadcore system for the same price.
I am seriously thinking about this right now because I dont think Ill take a performance hit at all going from the e2160 to the amd 5000 black edition...
Objective is to upgrade to 64bit os and 8gb of ram for as little as possible with as few sacrifices as possible.
Computer Use:
Currently: Web surfing and occasional office tasks
Proposed New Use: Solidworks 2008, Auto Cad 2008, Lord of the Rings online, The Orange Box, Microsoft...
If it is a powerpoint "interview" then I havent an idea. If this is a presentation and not a interview or a presentation which will be a part of an interview , a general rule of thumb concerning power point or any other presentation is for the slides to only outline the material and for full...
Ok tps wiring is usually a 5volt reference signal and the tps acts as a rheostat sending the ecu a variable resistance kind of letting it know that hey im XX% open so you need to adjust shift points , fuel injector pulsewidth etc..If anything is wrong with this signal your car is going to run...
Just remember who benefits from the experience you're getting. When you get out of school you will have a solid resume with alot of experience to back it up. Your 8$ an hour days are numbered so enjoy them while they last.
Think also that you are probably making alot more than 8$ an hour...
I have a few rules for the women I date.
1) no tramp stamp, yes thats the tattoo on the lower back
2) boy short panties dont go well with skirts stop doing that i wanna puke
3) stop wearing those frickin capri pants. they arent pants they arent shorts you got them for 40%discount because...
Sounds a little low even for all stock speeds. Lemme see what I get at stock speeds and ill edit.
Right now @3.2 and memory at 950 i get 159,950
95k without any overclocks.
Wow thats weak.
Ok maybe your about right for stock. Still seems a tad low. I would double check make sure...
That system seems awesome to me. I am sure youll have problems at high settings in some games , but I would definately be happy with those scores. My socket 939 system never got over 5k 05marks with my 6800gt!
To me I look at it like the 8800gts is a race horse and with a amd4600x2 as a jockey the horse will just never see its full potential. Not saying it wont be an improvement over your current system OP. Just saying to take full advantage your gonna have to go core2 or wait for amd's new thing.
Given 2 Similiar systems with the same graphics card, one with a core 2 duo clocked to (x)ghz and one with a amd4600 . The core2 system will benchmark significantly higher.
This isnt speculation in almost every comparison there was a huge discrepency, if it isnt the cpu bottlenecking then...
Your running a little hot I am same case and cooler as you and clocked alot higher with about 10c less temp than you. I would question the mounting of the freezer7 first. Make sure clips are right and fan is facing the rear exhaust fan. Make sure the fan on freezer 7 is blowing towards the rear...
if you have a freezer 7 pro then unless you disable smartfan the fan will cut on an d off when it wants too , i have watched coretemp when it does this and the processor at least in my case was in no danger whatsoever. never got above 33c, although with disabled it stays closer to ambient @...
When you get the right size screwdriver you may need to do a "faux pas" and hit it squarely with a hammer too help loosen up the screw holding the rotor to the hub. If you do have any trouble getting them off remember that and put a superthin coat of high temperature caliper grease between the...
Yep using software open gl is actually smoother. I hope nvidia does release some better drivers soon. I kind of mistakenly expected the performance on the 8800 to be equal to the performance on my old 6800gt.
NatePo- Yep just checked and I am not using software open Gl as that box is not ticked. Should I be? Anyhow the main slowdown is when I use autodimension and drag the dimensions it stutters a little, which sucks because my old machine does it all flawlessly.
Assemblies chug too compared to...
I dont know the why either.
My new rig which has a 3ghz clocked core2duo and a 8800gts is piss poor in solidworks 2007 3dmodeling compared to my several year old 2.6ghz clocked 3200winchester with a 6800gt softmodded to quadro.
The 8800 series seems to bite the weenie when it comes to cad.
Did another run at 3.1ghz for fun
CPU: e4300
Clock Speed: 3096ghz (344x9)
Motherboard: dq6
Ram brand, type, speed, and amount: firestix@ddr935 5-5-5-15
Cooling: freezer7 pro
Orthos Stability: forever stable at this clock
18.891 1m

our workstation at work has dual xeon processors @ 3.2ghz each and they seem adequate, we also have 2gb ram and a raid5 array if Im not mistaken.
I use my amd 3200 windsor with 1gb of ram and a6800gt graphics card to run solidworks 2007 on one computer at home. Id say the amd is alot faster...
I dont know the answer because I havent ever used patriot ram. I can say that my ddr800 firestix are running 55515@ddr950 right now and have been since two weeks ago when I built this rig.
I also couldnt find definitive proof that the chips are indeed micron, but I am quite pleased with...
