Hooking up a DD-WRT router to ATT-Uverse STB

Don't use the ethernet port on the back of the U-Verse STB as a permanent solution. When the box is reset, if there is something plugged into ethernet, it will not look over coaxial for a signal, and neither the bridge nor the STB will work. It will drive you nuts.

Is it possible to buy the unfettered, original Star Wars trilogy?

Those DVDs contain the original trilogy without all the CGI and stuff, but be aware that they are just LaserDisc rips themselves, and the picture quality isn't that great.

I have a couple dedicated servers for sending out lots of email/serving a few websites, and both have dual 2.4GHz Xeons. These are old single core ones with HT, and I'm looking at moving to a different provider that offers the same amount of RAM (2GB) and 500GB RAID1 for half the price...

Working wireless connection into U-verse dvr?

It can be coax or cat5 from the NID to the RG, and the same coax can be connected to the STBs. It uses HomePNA. I have Uverse and two of my STBs are connected via coax so I didn't have to drop cat5 in those rooms. All the other ones are connected with cat5, and they are on the same network...

Hard Drive attached to Airport Extreme: HSF+ or FAT32?

I'd do HFS+ Journaled, as you'll be able to store files over 2GB and it should be faster and waste less space due to the file system. The journaled part won't really matter directly, but it'll speed things up if you ever plug it into your Mac directly.

The problem with the glossy screen is that I use my computer outdoors a lot and in rooms with overhead lighting, and I've never had a worse headache that one from a glossy screen in that environment.

This new superdrive is working alright, but I fully expect it to stop working just when I need it in a few months. I rarely use it, but when I need it can't live without it. Sure I could accept a new one and sell it to go back and buy another one, but that's really not worth the hassle at...

Can anyone beat this? My FOURTH Superdrive has just failed, it won't read any DVD-Rs (but it has no trouble burning them!) Here's a list of things that have been replaced since July 2007 on my 2.2GHz MacBook Pro: 5 logic boards (one didn't even make it out of the store!) 4 superdrives...

Also, if that receiver has an optical input, which it should if it's under ten years old, you can connect the AirPort Express to it via that method for digital sound. I use one of these cables to connect mine to my Sony receiver, and it works great...

The AirPort Express can connect to your wireless network. The ethernet connection is there because it can also be used as a router or wireless bridge. I think it is perfect for what you need, and I love the few of them that I have.

I'd drop $90 on a PSU, but if I can avoid it to run a $30 GPU, that'd be awesome. Do you think it can handle an 8600GT or something similar? I plan on a full upgrade once the 6 core Intel chips come out, and I've no idea how crazy the GPUs will be then.
