Power supply for new computer

Got an eMachine T6524 and I'm going to get a 6800GS so I'm going to need more power then the 300W I got in right now. I got cdrom, dvd burner, hdd, 2 sticks of ram and 1 fan. I want something I can use for a long time and maybe add afew more fans later on. Any ideas? I kinda wanna keep the price...

because at the site I was thinking about getting it from the 6600GT were only 100 bucks more. i just want a system to play RTS/RPG games on :(. i really dont wanna build it myself though. i might just get an HP and get the 6800GS.

Is it worth the extra 100 bucks for the Dual 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 cards? I'm planning on buying the system from PC Club for under $1000 (not bad). Also do anyone know if the 6600 or the 6600 GT can over clock much? Also is it a good idea to overclock on SLI? One more question I will only play RTS...

Thats just it this computer is a HP/Compaq. 3700+ but I'm 100% sure you cant overclock cuz bios will be locked

Thinkin about getting an HP but one has a 512KB cache and other is 1MB. Is it worth a 50buck diff? This is only about cache not about HP or building my own :) Thank you.

A friend of mine just got a compaq sr1650nx but he has a 6800GS in his other computer and wants to put it in the compaq (since its better) but hes not sure if there will be problems with ati onboard with nvidia. I said no but hes scared. He said hes seen afew people with problems about it so...

Heres one somewhat cheaper too http://www.tankguys.biz/opteron-socket-cab2e-cacje-p-1419.html I have NO clue about these cpus so I'm not sure. This for a server >.> haha I'm sad :( But is this better then the A64? Maybe I'll toss this in a ABIT Kn8 Ultra instead.

Can I please get some help with a rig upgrade

I'm in the same boat. I'm thinking about the Epox EP-9NPA+Ultra or one of the Asus but it seems some people get boards that are dead out of the box or they are great. Didn't know motherboards were such a gamble. :(

MSI K8N Neo4-F NVIDIA

I did make another thread afew days ago on the same board but it was the platinum. Not sure if its the exact board just with fewer add-ons. But this is the last issue on my mind so I just wanna be 100% sure I picked the right board. I'm going to get an Antec 550W PSU so that will be enough power...

Final PC build

I think everything is in order. Just would like to know if that PSU can handle the MSI, 3 fans , vid card, dvd burner and one hard drive. Also will the ram work well with the MSI board? I'm going to order this next week if all goes well. Budget was $800. Also how long would you think I can keep...

The only difference that I can tell is that the eVGA has OpenGL 2.0 but only 1 DVI. I have no clue what those 2 do when it comes down to compareing. the eVGA is only 5 bucks more because I'll probably order the other off tigerdirect unless theres a way around the whole "combo" thing on newegg.

First I would thank you for looking at my thread and hopefully giving me some pointers. A friend of mine finally convinced me to just build then buy a Compaq. My current PC is a Compaq 500Mhz 128MB ram. So anything will be better. I'll use this as a reg computer I'm not a heavy gamer as in FPS...

Could anyone tell me the difference between the K8N Neo 4-F and the K8N Neo 4 Platinum? Because I'm just now thinking about just spending 219 on the K8n Neo4-4/with A64 3000+ at tigerdirect.

Gateway vs Insignia Monitor
