Virus got past Avira antivirus program :(

Where did it find the virus? What is your guard set to? (you can set it to scan on read, write or both.) If it wasn't set to scan on write then it could have been saved to your computer somehow and since you never opened the file it would not have detected it without a scan.

FRAPS limiting network speed

Good question. I think they were updated using Windows Update but not sure how new they are. It's a new PC build (only a couple months old) and I'm pretty sure I picked up the latest drivers.

packing/storing cables

I coil them up and put a couple twist ties on it. I have a large plastic bin that I have all my ethernet/phone/coax and other long cables (such as 50ft VGA and SVideo) just sitting in. I use the plastic drawer systems from Target and the like for anything smaller. I have WAY too many cables...

flash 10 not working with opera 9.64

Need 8 AHCI SATA ports!

Xbox 2 specifications now officially available

What does a 10'C change in ambient room temp do for ur overclock?

If your room is that hot (and jeeze, how do you live like that? I can't stand over 75F) then your components can NEVER get below that temperature with air cooling. But its not like they run at 30C at load anyway. But its a lot harder for your fans to keep things cool when it only has hot air...

Why In the Hell Do Mobos still have more than Two PCI slots

The power connector is probably in that location for a reason. If you were to take out those PCI slots what would you put in their place? You want the vid card, memory, cpu, and chipset fairly close together. I'm guessing the power connector is there so that the PCI E can get enough clean...

Are the USB headers on an A7N8X-X also 2.0?

Confusing info about a build

The problem is its just not worth it to go SLI unless you can afford $1000 in graphics cards right off the bat. Other than that I haven't heard of any real problems with it. But the Nforce4 chipset drivers are very new, there are problems with it at the moment.

I do recall a lot of motherboard manufacturers getting a bad batch of capacitors. I believe Asus was among them but they don't have those problems anymore. It could have been from that batch and I would not blame it on Asus if it was.
