    Depends on the car obviously. I paid 1K for my '96 VW Passatt three years ago now. Still running like a champ 40,000 miles later. Police Interceptors are legendary for a reason though. Spec'd for heavy duty use with gobs of spare parts available. Stick with it if you like it!
