hey guys, isn't it more expensive if a PC is built with same specs as the Mac pro, as you have to get a mother board with 2 slots for the CPU. And also, to find a mother board with the capability of actually slots for 16GB of memory....???
Come on... every one knows that MAC's are for...
So what about the AMD X2 S939 4400+, will it have a price cut or no because it has "2x1md" L2.
If not price cut then will the 4600+ be a good choice and any performance difference?
thanks
So price cut for S939 or no price cut?
I wish, cause some charts show both but this article says"
"The memos only mention the AM2 processors; however the AM2 parts are now priced identically with Socket 939 components."

OK apart from all the fanboy, Intel vs AMD discussion can anyone please (if they know) tell me why Apple (which is far better than Intel) is switching to Intel for their processors and not AMD (which could have given Apple a better deal and the needed performance). I think (correct me if I am...
But I want to do it legally (what am I saying  ;)) really though, I want to do it right.
So all I need is a computer, AM transmitter kit, head phoes, mic and most important a license from FCC right.
but if I want to do it legally (with a license) do I have to have an office or...
come on:laugh:
really what should I do, is it really EXPENSIVE?
Well I would only air it for couple of hours (may be 4-5 hours)
well I have time and a good computer.
thanks
I was thinking of starting a AM radio station.
Is this the same way as FM?
Does it need a lot of soft/hardware?
Can't I do it from Home?
Just trying to go cheap...trying
I have a Asus A8N SLI deluxe (AMD 3500+) and I installed a 1 GB OCZ stick and its working fine. So if I install another 1GB stick of different brand will it work in dual channel or do I have to have the same OCZ stick for it to work in dual channel.
finally is 2 GB too much for video editing...
well if I were you I would buy a 4400+ because it has the same cache 1MB and both are very similare in performance.
You can also save the money to buy something really important for the computer, like graphic card or cards (SLI)
AMD 4400+ = $581
AMD 4800+ = $1001...
I really want a dual core but...
I have a 3500+ and it stutters just like otispunkmeyer said. open my music program and a website it stutters.
AMD's are horrible at multi-taking
Do you think the AMD Dual core will be the same, while doing multiple things because it does not have the...
not immediately but later on when the prices drop (hope they do very soon)
but for now I would get Pentium D (but again its Intel--got be cautious about the power consumption and heat)
This is crazy, I alway though that
AMD = low price good performance
Intel = pricey not good...
hopefully the prices of AMD 64 X2 go down but no matter what the price is AMD 64 X2 4400+ seems really good. It beat Pentium D in almost everything (except in 3D rendering + multitasking).
It is funny that Intel is playing the "bang for the buck" game, not AMD.
The plates just turned...
so for laptops is celeron better or Pentium M better. So also travels a lot like out of country and so does centerino help (mobile technology)?
how about AMD?
hey
looking for a good laptop for $700 and under
just for general use
this laptop is for my mom. She mostly uses the internet, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, listens to music
thanks
when i use Adobe After Effects/Premier and apply 2 effects or so and play in real time without rendering a 10 second clip without any audio my RAM (1GB stick) drops from 1GB to 10 MB (and drops fast) and the CPU usaage is 100%
I wish i could show you the pics of my Task manager, but

I wish i could show you the pics of my Task manager, but
is this serious :Q
cpu= 100%
PF usage= 1.01 GB
Physical Memory
Total = 1048040
Avabile = 19880
Applications in use: IE, AIM, Adode After Effects
when i use Adobe After Effects/Premier and apply 2 effects or so and play in real time without rendering a 10 second clip without any audio my RAM (1GB stick) drops from 1GB to 10 MB (and drops fast) and the CPU usaage is 100%
Is this Normal?
Thanks in advance
AMD Athlon 64 3500+...
well, when I use Adobe Premier and apply 2 effects only and play back in
real time without rendering it, my ram just goes down to like 10 MB (ram becomes very low) from 1GB and the CPU usage is 100%
it this normal?

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
OCZ...
so will the AMD dual core be faster than the P4 dual core in video editing?
will it be worth the upgrad?
how much (just a approximation) will the dual core Athlons cost?
thanks
ok
thats nice to know that only a bios flash is need for me to switch from
3500+ to THE DUAL CORE ;)
anyone have any idea how much the dual core will cost?
hey
I use Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop
so you cannot see much of a difference?
can i use one of those "dual core" cpus on my motherboard?
how do they work 2 cpus or 2 in 1 cup with HT?
hopefully they are faster then Intel in video editing :)
thanks
Do you think I made a mistake of getting this for video Editing: (it cost me $1300)
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB OCZ Performance series
200 SATA
Asus A8N SLi deluxe
is this computer going to be very slow at video and encoding?
Does the 64 bit OS help? :(
Thanks in advance
ok it may be because i did not install any anti-virus/spyware software. I should have installed Norton Anti-virus, but it slows down the computer when using other large programs - like Photoshop, Premiere etc.
but i guess i have to install it.
thanks
hi
my CPU usaage percent varies often, it goes up and down like from 40% to 2% to 0%. It touches 100% when using Adobe Audition for audio encoding. Is this common for:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB OCZ Performance series
Asus A8N SLi-Deluxe
Is this a problem?
any suggestions?
Thanks...
