Okay, here is the situation. My employer is finally going to buy me a 20.1" LCD monitor for work. I'm a programmer/web developer so I would like to get at LCD that has good text clarity and color reproduction. Work has provided me a list of monitors that I'm allowed to order through the...
Actually I just found an adapter that came with my 24-PIN Coolermaster powersupply that converts to 20-PIN. I'm assuming this should work with an Antec powersupply?
Actually that adapter looks opposite of what I need. I need to convert a 24-PIN powersupply to 20-PIN. That Thermaltake cable converts a 20-PIN powersupply to a 24-PIN. Is there an adapter that converts 24-PIN to 20-PIN? Thanks...
I'm thinking about picking up a Sonata II for a HTPC project I'm working on. I've got an Abit NF7-S NForce2 board laying around which has a 20-PIN connector. The Sonata II case comes with a 24-PIN power supply. Can I use a 24-PIN power supply with my 20-PIN motherboard? Thanks...
This is practically a brand new powersupply as it has hardly ever been used. I have a Enermax 400W laying around I could give a try, but I'm almost ready to agree with tcsenter. The computer is too stable for the powersupply to be crapping out. I can load the computer up with folding@home and...
DDR2 DIMMs have a different number of pins and have a notch in a different position that DDR DIMMs. Check out this link to Corsair for a DDR2 FAQ: http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/specs/ddr2_faq.pdf
The way I look at it....if it ain't broken don't fix it. My computer doesn't have the latest bios or nforce4 drivers, but the thing is rock solid. I refuse to update those drivers until the next format. I've had too many problems with updating nvidia drivers in the past.
I have an older computer that I use as a server. The specs are as follows:
Gigabtye GA-7DPXDW-P w/ dual Athlon MP 1200 processors
1GB Ram
DVD-ROM
Geforce MX400 graphics card
120GB and 160GB harddrives
Add-on USB 2.0 card
400W Seasonic Super Silencer PS
According to the bios and...
Hey FastEddie, before setting my vdimm to 2.75v I noticed that Core Center was displaying that my memory was already running at 2.70v. Is 2.70v the correct stock setting or is it 2.5v like you said above? I bumped the vdimm up to 2.75v. Is there any danger in bumping up the vdimm? I've...
I should also mention that FastEddie recommended that I bump my memory voltage up since I have Corsair RAM. Check out his recommendation in the thread I started in the motherboard section:
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=29&threadid=1579222
What's weird is that I've got the paging operation error even when I didn't have a formatted D: drive (just a raw partition) and the page file was by default on C: I'm starting to wonder if the D actually stands for something else.
I'll make that vdimm change when I get off of work, and hopefully that will solve my problems. FastEddie, do you recommend the SW IDE drivers or the default MS drivers?
I already changed out the cables and the power supply is brand new and has excellent readings on all rails. The power supply is a Cooler Master Real Power 450W. It seems the problem only occurs on bootup. Over on another forum(http://217.115.198.3/content/topic/12946/) several people have had...
hey flexy, i have the exact same problem as you with a MSI Neo4 board at stock settings. in fact i just posted a similiar thread in the motherboard section. have you had any luck with the problem? I wonder if the problem is indeed the SW ide drivers from nvidia. BTW...what program does OCCT...
I've run the basic and extended harddrive diagnostic tools from WD and the drive passes all tests. The drive doesn't have any bad sectors and is not making any bad noises either.
I'll definitely up the voltages tonight and see what happens, but I'm still curious about something. If the memory is not getting enough voltage wouldn't memory intensive programs such as Prime95 or memtest generate errors?
Thanks for the advice FastEddie...The only memory settings i changed are the CAS latency, tras, trcd, etc to match the recommended timings for my memory 2.5-3-3-6. I haven't changed any of the memory voltage settings yet. I can give that a try tonight, but the problem is that there is no real...
Ok everyone here's the problem. I recently built a new system with the following specs:
MSI Neo4 Platinum w/ nforce4 chipset
AMD 3500+ Winchester core
Corsair XMS TwinX1024
WD Raptor 72GB
Seagate 160GB 7200.7 w/ NCQ
LiteOn DVD Rom
LiteOn DVD Writer
MSI Geforce 6600GT
The problem that...
Just download the nForce4 Standalone kit...the unified driver contains the drivers for all nForce chipsets. The audio driver is packaged with the Standalone kit. As for nTune I don't use it myself, but you can always install it to see if you find it useful. If you don't like it just uninstall it.
complexmath,
If you want to run your memory at 2-2-2-5 you will want to set the following settings in the bios respectively CAS Latency - (trcd)RAS to CAS Delay - (trp)RAS Precharge - (tRAS)Active to Precharge
I'm fairly sure this is correct, if not someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I just installed the XG 71.84 nvidia drivers from tweaksrus and it seems the problem has been solved. I don't know what's different with the XG driver, but at least it's finally working.
I recently purchased a MSI 6600GT to go with my new AMD64 system using the MSI Neo4 Platinum motherboard. The video card works fine for games, but when I playback windows media or realplayer video files the video playback is wavy and jittery. Does anyone have any possible solutions to the...
Hey MBrown,
If the OEM motherboard doesn't come with the drivers and utilities CD you can always download them from MSI's website. In fact, I hardly ever use the drivers that ship with products anyway. It's always better to go download the latest drivers and utilities. MSI's liveupdate tool...
Hey guys I just built a new system with the MSI Neo4 Platinum Nforce4 Ultra motherboard. I have a Hercules Game Theater XP 7.1 in my old computer, and I was wandering what your guys opinions of this card were. Should I use it or just stick with the onboard sound?
