iPhone users: What do you HATE about the iPhone?

iTunes sync seems really, really buggy, specially when it comes to Podcasts. I have over 20GB worth of Podcasts that I've accumulated over the years. I want to sync some of those to the iPhone, and I want it to sync only the newest episode of those few, and delete the rest from the iPhone...

Odd Cable Internet issue

Yeah, but it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end...at least it's not my computer. I've managed to reproduce the issue on my GF's laptop, as well as my iPhone, which will load pages very zippily but takes over 10 minutes to even load a 30 second youtube video.

Vista mysteriously eating drive space

Vista runs fine with 1GB provided one restricts usage to light activities like web browsing, email, listening to music or word processing. Which is what 99% of the population uses computers for, anyway.

Running Vista here with 4GB of RAM, an OC'ed Core 2 Duo and a 8800GTS. Overall, it feels snappier than XP (it does take longer for Vista to be usable after booting up, probably because it has to load the Superfetch cache; this is not really an issue since I only reboot when an update so...

Can the iPhone work without any SIM card?

Yes, that will unlock the iPhone, even if it doesn't have a SIM card. I also think it's quite unlikely that it will brick the iPhone. I've unlocked at least 10 iPhones for friends without hassle; at any rate, even if the iPhone acts up after jailbreaking / unlocking it, you can always restore...

I find ZiPhone to be the easiest way to unlock an iPhone. It's an all-in-one package that jailbreaks, unblocks and sets up an installer which downloads 3rd party Apps directly to the iPhone.

Which version of vista would be best for a gaming pc with XP Pro SP2?

I have both XP and Vista in my machine; haven't booted to XP in months. I suggest you stick with Vista as your main OS.

Grid demo

Yeah. It recognized my 360 controller out of the box, and automatically mapped it to mirror the 360 version. Even the menus and HUD changed to reflect the fact that I was using a 360 controller. It might be a little more complicated with a 3rd party controller, but I'm sure it's possible.

Any reason to dual boot XP SP2 and Vista 64?

I dual boot XP SP3 and Vista 64-bit but I haven't booted to my XP partition in months. I only keep it around for my Line 6 Guitar Port, which has no 64-bit drivers, though recently I've been experimenting with it inside a VM XP guest, and it works decently, so I might wipe my XP partition for good.

3G iPhone Launch Date Confirmed - June 9th - WWDC

Probably because he sold it unlocked. Here in Mexico an unlocked 16GB iPhone can go for over US$900. A lot of people charge over $100 just for 'unlocking fees' on imported iPhones. Ridiculous, seeing as to how it takes less than a minute and two clicks to unlock the thing with ZiPhone...

Vista 64 for old and new games + HTPC?

Vista 64 has been in my main gaming box for over a year. Works wonderfully, and it's probably the most stable, robust computer I've used in my life. Definitely go with Vista 64, mainly because of the support for more than 4GB of RAM.

Windows Live Skydrive

I use Skydrive a lot, specially with the added IE7 drag-and-drop file functionality. That said, I think Live Mesh will be even better. I'm on the waiting list for the Beta and can't wait to try it out. It will even have a Mac client :)

iPhone Stock is Gone - Looks like 3G is here very very soon

If they offer a 32GB model with 3G, I'd might be really tempted to import one and unlock it. It'd be really hard to resist if such a model with were to be available at $500, specially if it sports better battery life and GPS as well.

I'm not the biggest Apple fan, but I have to admit, the iPhone / iPod Touch are simply marvelous monuments to design. No one else can design something so intuitive, sleek and beautiful. Now if only the iPod touch had a volume control on the side like the iPhone does...oh well...

Is the 32GB iPod Touch much thicker than the 16 or 8GB? I was playing with a friend's iPod Touch today, and I was struck by how impossibly thin and lightweight it is. It makes my 5G 60GB iPod look like a brick.

Vista Vs. XP

Using Vista; lovin' it. Only issue: my Line 6 hardware won't work with 64-bit Vista. But this has nothing to do with Vista and everything to do with Line 6 being too petty to release 64-bit drivers; the drivers work just fine on Vista 32-bit.

XP 64 bit as opposed to Vista 64

In one year using Vista 64, there has been only one device which is incompatible, my Line 6 Guitarport, as there's no 64 bit driver. It doesn't work with XP64 either so there you have it.

Interesting article on Steam

I used to love Steam. Now more and more publishers are using regional locks on their games to prevent everyone outside the US and Canada from buying games via Steam. Since Steam was the only way I could buy most games, now my options are becoming really limited.

Installing another Windows XP on a second hard drive

Why do you want to hide the second XP install? If you have XP Pro, it would perhaps be easier to simply create separate user accounts, one with admin privileges and the other without them, and then deny access to whatever drives / folders / files you want to keep hidden from the limited account.
