tray drives are the normal type you see on cdrom drives etc... press a button, out comes a tray, plonk on your disc, push the button/tray again... slot loads are the type of cd/dvd loading mechanism that you get in car cd players (i.e you just push it into the slot, and the drive accepts it)...

128 or 256 mb of ram???

128M + is only good if you run mem intensive apps (like Photoshop, 3DSMAX, etc) or if your like me and open dozens of windows for most everything you do. I'm personally getting 384M ram, 512M if i can afford it, for my new system, since i do all of the above.

ahaha :D lemme guess, you've got a SB Live? go and look in the EAX panel in the Creative Launcher (Start -> Programs -> Creative -> Creative Launcher -> AudioHQ). if its not that, then yeah, check your winamp DSP plugins. (Fire up winamp, press CTRL - P -> plugins -> DSP/Effect)

Chrome Orb in KT7-Raid?

AMD4SPEED: Well *DUH* christ, (almost) anyone knows not to start up a chip that has a reputation for hitting 30C+++ with a decent heatsink and fan, WITHOUT attatching atleast some sort of heatsink + fan... From what i've heard, the Orbs are far from junk... however, i cant say personally...

ThermalTake ChromeORb and Abit KT7.. Don't Fit

If your handy with a grinder, you can grind off the bottom part of 2-3 fins on the Chrome Orbs (or any other orb for that matter) make sure you clean it off, and there arnt any bits of lose metal attatched to it still... www.auspcmarket.com.au is selling modded versions. take a look at the...

Opinions on Lian Li Cases?

hehe, nah, its cool :) The powersupply is coming pre-installed, MaCase 300Watt. no idea what these are like, but it should be fine to run a hdd, burner, dvd, and the usual assortment of video card (Geforce 2 MX), nic, KT7 mobo + duron etc with no problems... :) I'll put up a post when i do...

Best cost effective KT7 HSF?

the Chrome orbs can be modded to fit on the KT7 (you have to grind the base of a few fins)... not sure about cost effective-ness take caution when installing the HSF, as quite a few people have crushed their CPU... Take Time, and Patience, Observe whats happening with it.

open a power supply to replace noisy fan?

How do you take the volume wheel off a cd drive?

dont sue me if you screw your drive, but if you take the plastic front panel off, you should be able to use a pair of thin snips.... it wont go back on... or you can just take drive case off, and paint the wheel too...
