I was wondering if anyone knows of a utility, script or any software to do this? We would like to query the domain to make sure all machines have the correct time after DST.
Thanks
Doens't matter if you go through network neighborhood or through the \\NETBIOS level you can't view the scheduled tasks on another computer. The at \\computername doesn't work either. Some users can though. Users are browsing from a XP machine to a 2003 server. Any ideas why certain machines...
Several co-workers are wondering if it's even worth pursuing 2003 certification or should wait for the next level of certification. Anybody know what Microsoft is planning and when? Links?
Thanks
Exchange 2003; Outlook 2003 sp-2. A user doesn't see all attendees for the meeting request. I'm wondering if this is a client issue, or who actually will appear in that list? Anybody invited?
Thanks
How do I change a computer description and make it visible to all users when they browse network neighborhood. It seems that sometimes I put the description and it doesn't show up.
Thanks
true, but I was thinking something 3rd party where you could set the intervail to something like 30 days. I didn't think there would be anything logical (except DHCP of course) -- Thanks
sort of, but it would be quicker if I did just manually delete the records. I guess I am wondering if there's a way to scavenge static records automatically?
I'm referring to statically assigned addresses. Typically one of the Jr. Admins will replace a workstation & we are now matching computer names with serial #'s. We try to assign the same IP address to the new workstation & remove the previous net name from the domain. As you can imagine DNS...
I can start the session log in & see the machine logging in, but it just sits at a blank blue screen. If I open task manager I see that explorer isn't running. I can launch explorer & I see the desktop and everything else. I don't see anything until I do this. This just happens with cretain...
I'm responsible for hiring an Intern and am looking for some good general desktop support questions. I can come up plenty of AD, Group Policy, exchange, SQL and networking questions. I'm drawing a blank on desktop support though
I created a custom taskpad on my XP workstation to allow a certain group of users the ability to run the task. I can open the taskpad fine on my machine, but when others try to open the MMC they get the error:
Snap-in failed to initialize
Name: {unknown}
CLSID: {###################}...
Or does it need to be installed in a domain enviornment because of Active Directory?
Are there any SSL VPN's that work in a workgroup enviornment?
Thanks
there is no policy in place that says they can't. As far as I know nobody has it (except for the handful of admins) & we will not install it for anyone, but can you ever trust the users?. Basically one user requested to have the Remote Desktops feature installed that comes with the adminpak...
I have w2k03 AD intergrated. Iv'e discovered that a generic user account that has local admin rights can install the 2003 adminpak tools on their machine and alter, Add & delete DNS records through the DNS console. How can I lock this down? And yes some users (developers) do require local...
